How far would you walk for charity? Introducing: The Viewfinder!! 🎥🎬 A new series from ShAFF that goes behind-the-scenes with local filmmakers and adventurers, providing an intimate look at their processes, journeys, experiences and, yeah of course, some nerdy film kit chat. ShAFF is all about celebrating and amplifying local adventure and outdoor films. While our festival is a fantastic platform for showcasing these finished stories, we realised we could do even more to highlight the talent and dedication happening all year-round. We’ll be taking a look at filmmaking journeys from start to finish, including the highs and lows, the expected and unexpected moments. To kick things off, we’re thrilled to share an interview with Sheffield filmmaker @jamieschofieldphotography , whose two films – The Art of Bea-ing and Running To The Start – were screened at this year’s festival. In this article, Jamie shares his experience filming @posture.ben on his audacious challenge of bagging all 95 Peak District Ethels involving 500km of walking and 14,000m of climbing, all in @wildsolesandals barefoot sandals! Are you stuck in a cycle of not reaching your physical goals? In my 20s, I thought I always had to be doing more, constantly pushing, abusing my body and going through cycles of training hard, injury and recovery, then rinse and repeat. Around 7yrs ago, I changed all of that, focusing on alignment and mobility. In no time at all, I cleared up chronic knee pain, that had plagued me since I was around 17 or 18. Other aches and pains went from being something that I assumed were a result of aging, to being non-existent, despite now being in my mid-30s. Almost all the beliefs I had about muscular skeletal pain and what it actually takes to maintain "good shape" were flipped on their head and instead of feeling like I needed to do more high intensity work to achieve my goals, I started to do less. By focusing on alignment, mobility, diet (not dieting), sleep and hydration, I transformed how my body performed and all of this flew in the face of my previously held beliefs about what happens as your body ages - none of my previous pains were as a result of aging, how could they be, I am nearly double the age I was when my knee pain started and haven't experienced any knee pain for years now 🤯 If you want to learn the methods I've used to go from a 25yr old on a fast track to a knee replacement and having to give up hobbies due to pain, to a 34yr old who lives in a physically resilient body, whilst also looking in the best shape you'll have ever been in, I am going to be launching a 3 month coaching programme for 10-15 motivated men...keep your eyes peeled, as I announce more over the coming weeks. #highintensity #doless #menscoaching

The advert was perfect...except the end ❌ This may be the cheesiest thing I've ever done, but I keep hearing this advert and loving every bit of the messaging, all except one little bit... If you have aches and pains, actually back your body, I know from my own experience that you're not going to find the long term solution in a bottle on a shelf...the long term solution is to do the right exercises, bring your body into better balance and you will give it the space to heal itself 💪🏻 Obviously certain conditions may need supplements or medication, but probably a lot less than we are led to believe... certainly your "creaking knees" are a sign that something is 'off' biomechanically and you won't find a solution for that in the shape of a pill. #backyourbody #kneepain #foodforthought

We should all have a foot fetish 🦶 And no, I don't mean looking at pictures of other people's feet, although no judgement if that's what you want to do I mean we should be obsessed with how our feet function, as weak dysfunctional feet can have ramifications throughout the rest of our body The footwear that most people wear is slowly deforming their feet, leading to them being dysfunctional and at The Posture Squad, we are on a mission to get more people into barefoot shoes, which is why we have put together the Barefoot by Summer programme Things kicked off this week and today we benchmarked where our feet are at right now, so that we can revisit this at points throughout the programme and assess our progress Let's get away from thinking we need fancy technology at the ends of our legs to help with performance, we already have incredible tools (our feet), they may just need some work...I hope I can be the inspiration you need, after all, I just walked 500km in my barefoot sandals, what more proof do you need as to what our feet are capable of, if we look after them correctly If you're still not sure, why not sign up for a free month of The Posture Squad and we might just change your mind #footfunction #barefoot #posture

Until you start doing posture, you might get stuck in a mindset of ‘if an area of my body hurts, it must be weak and it needs to be strengthened and stretched.’ So, someone with foot pain might endlessly try and do calf raises, calf stretches and the like. … without realising that the poor feet are overloading already (not weak - tired!) and don’t need more work … they need a rest! The 3 posture examples are 3 common ones which can cause foot overload (and eventually pain) … can you see how each root cause of the foot pain is nothing to do with the feet at all? This is how posture works (and it’s why it works) - we see things the flip side to how most people view pain. There we have it... 10 days, 95 Ethels, over the length of Ireland in distance, more than 4 times up and down Everest in elevation and now over £3,000 raised for @mhealthuk and @cpre Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the challenge, none of this would've been possible without you! What's next, you ask...a good rest for a start, but then a documentary later this year...and who knows maybe a volume 2 in the future 🤔 #charity #hike #peakdistrict

Yesterday, my husband, @posture.ben completed the final day of his 10 day, 500km barefoot world record challenge- walking and wild camping across all 95 of the Peak District ‘Ethels’ from Friday 16th April to Sunday 26th April 2026 in his barefoot sandals. A while ago, he decided he wanted to do this challenge (the previous quickest record we could find was 4 months), and, little did I know how many months I’d have to endure of chat about step counts, foot skin, bag packing, maps, @huel and so much more, but we eventually found ourselves at the start date. Ben was blessed with incredible weather after the first 2 very rainy, boggy days and walked like an absolute trooper. Obviously it was a big struggle for him but he seemed to find his groove with each day that went by. With the increasing tan came the increasing ease it seemed from the outside! It was also so fun being part of a group of our family and friends who walked the final 15km with him yesterday and seeing over the finish line of Bolehill in Wirksworth. And to see some gym friends too! Being his main support team was a challenge in itself, but it at least meant I got to enjoy a lot more sunrises and sunsets than I am used to and got to see he was safe and well fed each day. Very grateful for @savageprojects long stint too (especially since my car brakes have gone and so driving would have become increasingly hard 🤣) and getting to know @jamieschofieldphotography who was an added gem of the whole experience. It wasn’t my challenge but it’ll stick with me forever. I’m proud of Ben (although I always knew he’d do it), super nervous of the fact that he was talking about the next challenge at 8pm last night and super excited for a week of resting and getting back into routine again. Thank you to everyone who donated to his charities - Ben is leaving the JustGiving page open so please keep ‘em coming 🙏 (I promise I’m back to work now and I am sorry for anyone waiting on anything - other than having to find a new studio space (a story to share on another day), I have no distractions for the foreseeable future and I really want to knuckle down to work now!) #peakdistrictnationalpark #peakdistrict

Today marks the start of an epic adventure. 👣 Our friend and posture therapist @posture.ben is setting out on one of the most physically demanding challenges of his life, all in aid of charity. His mission is to hike all 95 of the Ethels in the Peak District in one continuous 500km journey, wearing his wildsole MAMTOR sandals. He’s taking this on to raise funds for two incredible causes: Mental Health UK and Campaign to Protect Rural England. The current fastest known time to complete all of the Ethels stands at 4 months and 24 days. Ben is aiming to take an astonishing 4 months and 14 days off that record, targeting a finish in just 10 days. He’ll be wild camping along the way, carrying most of his gear himself, with only a handful of planned supply drops to keep him moving.
