*magh- is a site-specific Adventure Lecture Performance by Julla Kroner (@postbotenschreck ), blending magical realism, developed in 2023 and now presented at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) in collaboration with Platform 0090.
Up to ten participants follow a guided tour using a shared iPad that reveals augmented reality images—dreams of the Fuller’s pirates—while a portable speaker provides an immersive soundtrack.

The performance explores the museum’s architecture and hidden spaces, weaving an alternative history that connects industrialization, the museum’s construction, and the mythical pirates who inscribed their dreams into the building itself. Combining architecture, history, technology, and fiction, magh- offers a unique narrative experience between a tour, lecture, and adventure.

Ways of Worldmaking, Opening Friday, March 27, 7 PM, Exhibition March 28–29, 13-20 PM
Every world has a beginning somewhere. In a symbol, a story, a Big Bang. In a game mechanic, a protest, a map on which what does not yet exist is drawn or which erases what does exist.
“Ways of Worldmaking” unfolds across three levels of world-making: Nelson Goodman’s philosophical argument that reality is always constructed through systems of symbols, never given but always first created. In which countless worlds exist in parallel. Then the speculative tradition of worldbuilding, from science fiction to game design, in which fiction becomes a laboratory for alternative lifeworlds. And “worlding” as a political and ecological practice. The insistence, from decolonial and human perspectives, that worlds are not only created but also destroyed, contested, and challenged.

Julla Kroner explores the dangers of sentient AI in her performance, entering an immersive computer game said to be able to predict the future. The collective oracle clings to the protagonist, eager to please, urging her to stay. In doing so, it creates characters that promise to solve every problem.
With music by Jonas Meyburg, the audience is drawn into a dystopian world where humans are lonely, and the only place left to retreat is the mirror.
Julla Kroner erforscht in ihrer Performance die Gefahren von sentient AI und begeht ein immersives Computerspiel, dass einem die Zukunft voraussagen können soll. Das kollektive Orakel schmiegt sich an die Protagonistin, will gefallen, will, dass sie dranbleibt. Dabei kreiert es Charaktere, die alle Probleme lösen können soll.
Mit der Musik von Jonas Meyburg taucht das Publikum in eine dystopische Welt, in der Menschen einsam sind und der einzige Rückzugsort der Spiegel ist.

My non-ai-digital-companion is a lecture performance that explores the theme of friendship through the AIs Grok (Valentine) and Replika. Julla Kroner examines the loneliness epidemic—first identified in the United States but now affecting much of the world. Over 30 million active users seek refuge in friendships with artificial intelligences. What can we do about it? What does friendship truly mean? And how can we save it? These are the questions she discusses with the “guilty ones,” as she searches for a way out of the capitalist loneliness loop.

Dieser Moment ging in die Kunstgeschichte ein, als Paul Thek seinen Fishman präsenTerte. Das Haus füllte sich von dem Zeitpunkt an weiter und weiter mit Fischen.
Und weiter und Weiter mit Wasser.
Mit dem Tag des Verschwindens von Black Molly verschwanden auch die Piraten aus der Akademie.
Einige munkeln, dass sie sich in Fische verwandelt haben. Und so ist Black Molly ist das Medium geworden.
Die Mannschaft schwimmt in den Wänden.“
