post-office + will launch when we hit 90 members, 10 more to go! Join for €36.65 and get a say about the first €300 surplus.
In a sense, p-o+ is just an extension of what we already do: share our resources with each other, democratically.
While we currently share space, we want to start sharing a surplus budget too.
Surplus as fund and catalyst. There are many wishes we've all mentioned wanting to do for each other and the space, but it's clear that a lack of free time is holding us back from acting on it.
p-o+ is a force-function and motivator; whether it's to pay for our time or the materials to fulfill our wishes. It’s intended to do things for each other, that we could all benefit from (whether workshops, dinners, or new tools).
It’s a reason to gather, together. Once a month. We’d love for you to join.
See the pinned membership post for more info.

A chance to practice sharing, and having more together than we do alone.

In our updated Principles (link in bio) we highlight one of post-office core ways of being: 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮 (or CD-D) 🌐💿
𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘰'𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘢 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦.
CD-D is a form of direct democracy striving for a balance between individual autonomy and collective accountability.
We basically scale up the required levels of consent along with how many members are impacted by any given decision.
Throughout, everything is always open for dialogue by everyone, including the structure of CD-D and our Principles themselves.
@diary.as.genre hosts a bilingual reading and workshop of Diani di Prima’s Revolutionary Letters on June 14. We will read selected poems in original English and Dutch translation by Simon Vinkenoog, followed by individual writing prompts that invite you to write about your own experience with revolution. Workshop is free and signup link available in bio.
Join us for a relaxed evening of intuitive self expression and play with color. During the workshop we will explore a surprising theme through our intuition and learn to express with paint.
The focus of this workshop is on experimenting, expressing yourself, and enjoying the process rather than trying to create a “perfect” result.
You'll leave the workshop inspired and energized, with your painting to proudly hang at home or gift to a friend.
During the session we'll have drinks, snacks, and all the necessary materials.
Participation is donation-based.
✨ No experience needed ✨

A Friendly Introduction to Laptop Producing: The Audio Interface
Sat May 30 @post____office (Hoofdweg 403 Amsterdam)
A workshop to familiarize yourself with the process of recording sounds into your DAW.
I see a lot of people in my community who struggle to record their musical/sonic ideas, and don’t know where and how to begin. When I started out, there definitely was a steep learning curve I had to master before I could be creative in my DAW and record my voice in the way that I liked.
I have been a professional sound engineer for a while, doing live sound as well as recording and mixing albums (Lewsberg’s Out and About, Klittens’ upcoming album, my own work as Giant Julie and more). I would love to share my knowledge with those who need a place to start, or want to polish their vocal-recording technique.
We will look at how to get the sound into the DAW in the first place, and then, through the combination of experience and experiment, explore different techniques to make the vocal sound “good”.
To bring: your laptop, and a microphone and an interface if you have.
Link in bio. Get the tix fast, spots are very limited! 🌪️
