JSPHYNX releases 'Cash 4 Gold' feat. Anuraag Dhoundeyal.
The single is the first release from his upcoming EP ‘Hold On’, out on Sekito Records on 3 July. Pre-Order via the link in bio.
On "Cash 4 Gold," JSPHYNX (Alfa Mist, Corto Alto, Tom Misch) links up with Mumbai-based singer, composer and producer Anuraag Dhoundeyal for a track that sits deliberately inside a lineage it loves — the long conversation between Indian classical music and UK jungle, and the diasporic identity carried in those samples across three decades of British club music.

British-Bahraini trumpeter and composer @YazzAhmedMusic announces her new EP, 'Shinrin-Yoku', arriving 29 May on limited edition vinyl and DSPs on @NightTimeStoriesLabel . Named after the Japanese practice of forest bathing, 'Shinrin-Yoku' is a four-track meditation on the healing power of the natural world.
"The world is hurting. Forever wars. Feelings of hopelessness. These are the thoughts that have compelled me to release this music,” Ahmed says. “In these troubled times I’m hoping to bring a little inner peace and to encourage reconnection with the sacred landscapes we all share on this planet.”
Lead single 'Dawn Patrol' is released today. Says Ahmed: "This track was commissioned by Adult Swim who sent me a mood board for inspiration. Meditating on these images I found myself thinking about the sea, waves, diving, and surfing, which later inspired the title Dawn Patrol. Surfers use this phrase to mean an early morning trip to go surfing at dawn, as the sea is awakening, yawning."

Her EP Epiphany drops 29th May
A foundational figure in the first wave of UK Funky, and one of the few Black women producers shaping that sound at its peak, Karen Nyame KG remains rooted in the percussive swing and diasporic rhythm that defined her early output. Epiphany EP captures that DNA fully matured, assured and unapologetically sensual. Diving deep into their melodic bag with a project built for heated dancefloors and sun-drenched festival stages, this is Afro-electronic goodness with weight and intent.

Sometimes I read a book and I just want to give this book to everyone cause it is absolutely amazing and I want to talk to as many people as possible about said book. This is one of them - a really insightful exploration about fans and audiences and their relationship to art (even or especially by bad people)
Anyhow - the first Thursday of the month is upon us this week (god the time flies) so we have another edition of Chat Shit at the Earl of Derby!
