KAFSC was honored to host a special community screening of ROSEMEAD at AMC Lincoln Square, bringing our community together through powerful storytelling, reflection, and dialogue. This screening was made possible through the support of our co-sponsors: Dr. Hong Ngo, The Pond Psychology Practice @pondpractice , @kcs_ny , KAFSC, and Kula Mind @kulamind .
Following the film, we held a meaningful post-screening Q&A featuring screenwriter Marilyn Fu, producer Fanghua Jiang, and psychologists Dr. Vanessa Li and Dr. Kibby McMahon, to explore mental health, healing, and the importance of culturally responsive care.
At KAFSC, we know that healing is not only physical, but also emotional and psychological. Events like this reflect our commitment to break stigma, create space for honest conversations, and connect community members to support. Through our counseling and mental health services, we continue to stand with survivors and families on their journey toward safety, resilience, and long-term well-being.
If you or your loved ones are in crisis or need help, call KAFSC’s 24-Hour Bilingual Hotline at 718-460-3800.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event a space for connection, community care, and healing. 💜

KCS was honored to co-sponsor the special screening of ROSEMEAD on Jan. 11 at AMC Lincoln Square 13, alongside our board members and invited guests. The film powerfully highlights the hardships many Asian immigrant families face—especially isolation, stigma, and prejudice.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vanessa Li for organizing this meaningful event, and to all co-sponsors and speakers who led a thoughtful post-film Q&A. We’re grateful to be part of conversations that build empathy and strengthen community. 💛 @pondpractice@kulamind@kafsc_ny

Event Recap: Movement and Art for the Heart at Luther Gulick Park hosted by @intergrowth_foundation and @pondpractice
Today at Luther Gulick Park, we had the joy of cohosting “Movement and Art for the Heart”, a community wellness event blending tradition, creativity, and mindfulness.
We are deeply grateful to @3x3_design@sparcsnyc@cunysph for giving us the opportunity to bring this unique experience to the city.
In the first part of the event, several kids and adults joined us to draw and paint their own fans, expressing themselves through color and design. Their creativity brought so much joy and energy to the park, and it was wonderful to see how each fan became a personal work of art.
The second half of the event offered a Walking Meditation, inviting participants to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and feel the rhythm of the earth beneath their feet. It was a peaceful and grounding way to end the day.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to creating more healing and creative spaces together.
