Huddleston Road - Bespoke Joinery
At the heart of this renovation is a clever item of bespoke joinery which acts to shift the line of travel from the party wall to the middle of the existing outrigger, allowing for a galley kitchen.
The joinery provides essential functions for the flat: a cloaks and shoe store, a utility’s cupboard with stacked washing machine and tumble dryer, utilities storage and decorative open shelving.

More images of recently completely extension to ground floor flat…
For each project during concept stage I set key views in our 3D model, which are “sweet spots”, points where the user’s position and the geometry of the architecture combine to create and particularly satisfying compositions and moments.
These key views are then used to test and develop the design and are referred to regularly throughout the process.
Here I enjoy comparing the photos against the two of the key views and to see these special moments realised. ✨🔍

I am excited to share photos of this recently completed rear extension and full renovation to a ground floor flat in Tufnell Park.
The project included front and rear landscaping works and bespoke joinery throughout.
It was a pleasure to work closely with the clients transforming this tired property. (See before pic!)
Key to success of the project was excavating the ground to rear of the property and introducing and internal step into the kitchen to improve the overall head height of the living spaces while creating a tiered patio/garden.

Drawings, assembly and in-situ photos of bespoke dining table designed and fabricated by Polygon Architects for recent project, The Cherry House.
The table is made from 22mm birch plywood faced with self selected cherry veneers, which were modelled and subsequent parts cut using CNC.
The table is design for 8 people with the central ‘cross’ legs allowing ease of access from the L-bench seat.
The legs are double laminated ply and constructed into one piece - missing one piece of each leg element which has given to and fixed to the table top. The table top then slots onto this completing the form seamlessly, hiding the fixing whilst allowing for simple de-assembly.
The precise dimensions, form and materially of this dining table are fundamental to overall extension design.

@polygon_architects and I are happy to share the first glimpse of the ground floor extension of our Stroud Green project and we are beyond proud. From the initial briefing meeting with the client this project has taken 18 months to come to fruition and is a true example of what can be achieved when you have the right team, with the same vision, working collaboratively from the start. This house was a real labour of love working with some master craftsman to create a timeless home for our dream clients and their growing family. Debating and deliberating over all those tiny details are so worthwhile when the results exceed the expectations (and squeals of delight from the clients always help!). Our vision could not be brought to life without the brilliant team @cr_building_contractors_ltd who really care about every detail and @cr_joineryltd . Special thanks to @fowlerscarpentryltd who fabricated the bespoke kitchen.

Project update - Huddleston Road N7.
The owners of this lower ground floor flat bought the flat with planning permission for a side and rear extension. This layout had several issues, which we were able to resolve while working with the existing planning permission.
The key move was with the hallway design, where triangular oak joinery housing cloaks, and utility goods allowed the corridor to shift, and enter the galley kitchen in the middle of the room.
The entire ground floor has been reconfigured including, ensuite, bathroom, new retaining wall and bin store at the front, and rear landscaping works.
The materiality is inspired by industrial and Scandinavian styles with crittal style doors, exposed london stock brick, black painted exposed steels, oak joinery and black stained timber door fronts.
