Getting lost in those woods will never get old. After 7 years of working with the @lostvillagefestival team this one was beyond special. Such an incredible group of humans. Such a special moment to play my first set for the gorgeous @he.she.they crew (love you so much) and opening the airbase on Sunday afternoon was a joy. Another spin around the sun. Another 365 days of growth and change and evolution. Of knowing I know nothing… and also kinda everything sort of. Of being more me than ever before. Of attracting things that align with my purpose and not entirely rejecting things that don’t. Instead seeing those as opportunities for learning. Chances to soften, to listen and guide me. A year of finding stillness and peace in the chaos that is always there. Of being open and sharing love in abundance and shining in moments that can feel so dark for those that often need it most… even when that feels hard and exhausting. Shout out to patience, compassion, commitment, care, honesty, boldness (emotional and follicle) who have been my guides and to gratitude for all that is, has been and will be. Hard to find the words for how special and bittersweet playing the Just Jack closing party of Motion was and to share the moment playing B2b with my friend @polyamoross was an extra joy 🥹 we’ve never played together before but it was a perfect match 🪭 A venue so close to our hearts, that’s been absolutely pivotal in both of our careers, social lives and a huge part of both or our musical DNA. A cultural institution. Gone forever… but never forgotten Thank you @motionbristol for all the opportunities and memories over the years and to @justjackrecordings_ for having us and for pulling together one hell of a send off 👊and everyone that came to celebrate the Last Dance in the beating heart of Bristol and the South Wests night life. Some @motionbristol memories… ☠️💜 In 2010 I came back to Bristol from uni, @stumpykyle saw a Facebook ad for an internship at @bristolinmotion . With my basic af photoshop skills he suggested making an event flyer style CV. I printed off a bunch and dropped them into the motion office. It got me the role. I started immediately working under @tom_rio_tropical_hotdog (@justjackrecordings_ ) who managed promo and the diary. Alongside production and venue manager @tomlovesaves (@team.love ), Phil and Ellie we worked in the office under one of the skate ramps soundtracked by the sound of slamming bmx and scooters above our heads. With Tom Hoyle (@theblastbristol ) and @satgururamesh help we set up the Motion street team. An amazing group, many continue to thrive in music. In 2011, 2 x Tom’s left and the owner of the 1400 cap venue at the time asked if I was up for stepping into their roles. A massive responsibility for 21 year old me. I believed I could do it, jumped at the chance and started to cut my teeth in the baptism of fire. I started managing the diary, venue, production alongside the audio and lighting teams and started putting on in-house events as well as own party Mad Luv. Thank you boss @tommyzbadd for trusting in me ❤️ I would often be in the venue 7 days a week at peak times. Loving every minute. Some of the most formative long days and late nights. With a growing team, during that time Motion increased to 3500 cap and was voted 37th in DJ Top 100 clubs in the world. After I left to join Grade management in 2014 it continued to climb and is still currently ranked 11th 🏆 I regularly returned (home) on tour with artists I was managing. We covered every inch of the warehouses, club rooms, courtyard and cobbles of the listed buildings and site ✨ 16 years later… we’re back for one last almighty send off. Thank you @jethro_just_jack and @milly_on_air_ for having me play B2B with you in Marble Factory tonight (Saturday) at 23:00 for The Last Dance. Originally from Bristol, this gender non-conforming musical alchemist has spent 15+ years transforming the UK music industry landscape. From promoting events, managing artists running large warehouse venues and curating parties and festival stages, they have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support talent and create spaces where music and creativity can flourish. In 2022, inspired by the electric energy of London’s queer club scene, Polyamoross stepped out of the shadows and into the booth, embracing DJing as a powerful tool for authentic self-expression. They began to share their love of music, weaving together a tapestry of electronic sounds that defy genres and celebrate their wide ranging passion for dance music. Polyamoross’ DJ sets are a genre-bending journey that often take the listeners from pulsating beats of techno to the sun-drenched melodies of Italo disco, with unexpected detours into the depths of bass music and beyond.
