I’ve missed WWFM and live radio so much, and I’m honored to have been invited back. I’ve always found joy and comfort in music, and at the moment, more so than ever. Music is such a powerful healing force and I hope ‘Let the Sunshine in’ brings some solace and relief in these trying times 🫂💙
Roots of Chutney: The Influence of Hindustani Folk on Caribbean Music with @poly_ritmo & @tashlc
London-based selectors Tash LC and Poly-Ritmo join forces to share their favourite Chutney music — a fast-paced and highly dancable genre born in the Caribbean. Originating primarily in Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname, Chutney blends traditional Indian folk music — often heard at weddings and birth celebrations — with the lively rhythms of Caribbean styles like soca, calypso, and kaseko. This mix features some of the genres most celebrated artists such as Sundar Popo and Sonny Mann as well as lesser known artists; Tjaan Sardjoe and Cecil Funrose.

It’s that time of year again! On Friday 15th May we’re kicking off our in-store season and opening our doors for a party at Mr Bongo HQ, Brighton.
It’s become an annual tradition to start the season with a BIG one. So behind the decks we’ll be welcoming friends of the label as well as Mr Bongo DJs to soundtrack the day, plus we’ll be broadcasting live with @offieradio .
1-9pm. This is a free entry event, no ticket is required and it is always one of the highlights of our year.

As my residency @goldener.reiter comes to an end, I couldn’t imagine a more meaningful way to celebrate than with an all-female lineup. I had the pleasure of meeting @poly_ritmo in Italy this week, and I’m truly excited to hear her play again. The London-based DJ, musician, and curator is known for her vibrant, globally inspired sets, spanning funk and disco to Afrobeat, highlife, and Brazilian boogie. Completing the lineup is @_djoy , an artist who has been on my radar for a long time. Deeply rooted in Munich’s music scene, she is known for her refined, groove-led selections. Of course, it isn’t goodbye forever, just the closing of a beautiful chapter. Let’s celebrate this final night together. ✨

Today's theme for @vinylettes ' #WHMVinylChallenge is hip-hop. When Discogs interviewed @poly_ritmo for her #Vinylogue feature, she shared how this '80s hip-hop compilation, 'Fly Girls! B-Boys Beware: Revenge Of The Super Female Rappers!' inspired her as a teenager and still resonates with her today.
