#57 Point Supreme (GR), Arquitetura Entre Vistas ABROAD This week we travel to Athens, Greece, to meet Konstantinos Pantazis, co-founder of Point Supreme, alongside Marianna Rentzou. They claim that “architects nowadays have forgotten their larger social role” as it is not just about buildings but the city as a whole. And yet, the city is not singular. “Cities are made out of all of us, our different beliefs and desires.” Their projects reflect this multiplicity and unfold as open systems.“Every project is like a sample of spaces, conditions, situations.” Not bound by scale. In fact, “we are not interested in any particular scale at all”, they say. But by the possibility of combining fragments, references, and realities. “We try to bring as much ideas, references and situations as possible.” This openness is also a way of testing clarity. “We want our proposals to be understood by our grandmothers.” This also extends to how they represent architecture. Their images are constructed worlds: collages of many painters, many photographs, many objects. “It’s not about aesthetics,” they insist. “It’s about allowing the viewer to be free from any particular association.” It is not about controlling meaning, but about constructing frameworks where meaning can emerge. A strategy not to explain too much but to open things up. Perhaps, in a time that struggles to imagine the future, their work doesn’t offer a single vision but something more collective: a space where many can emerge. Small space? Do the opposite of minimal. @pointsupreme divide compact spaces into smaller zones and layer materials — a trick borrowed from the traditional Greek house. We spent 24 hours with their studio in the latest issue of our magazine. Link in bio!

We spent 24 delirious hours in Athens with @pointsupreme and will never be the same. Enter the dream-like logic of Marianna Rentzou and Konstantinos Pantazis, where interiors can be inventive, joyful and completely alive. From their own home to the iconic Ilioupoli apartment and the playful Nadja project; walls, furniture and objects twist, stack and smile. It’s Athens reimagined – a city and a home, designed for curiosity and delight. Read the full story on our website – link in bio. #interview #thetalks #pointsupreme #greek #architecture #design #home #house #restoration #renovation #archt #archisearch

In Part 1 of ‘Athens, by Architects’, an insider’s guide to the Greek city’s distinctive design, #CuratedBy Konstantinos Pantazis and Marianna Rentzou – co-founders of Point Supreme Architects, life partners, and subjects of our latest In Residence – share their top three Athenian picks 🏡 1. Number one is a 1973 apartment building by Atelier 66, aka Dimitris and Suzanna Antonakakis, combining modern living with communality. “It’s conceived as a small neighborhood,” says Point Supreme. “Individual residencies share common open spaces on various levels, promoting communication and collectivity.” 2. Their second pick is the Loumbardiaris Chapel (1951) by legendary architect Dimitri Pikionis, which reveals the spirit of the land through meandering topography, natural accents, and responsive materiality. “This project includes a pavilion, chapel, and surrounding ground that work right in front of the Acropolis,” says Point Supreme. “It goes against modernist tendencies and allows the spirit of the place and its natural views to be revealed in an almost spiritual way.” 3. The final selection is Diporto, which has no known architect, but is a personal favourite for the design duo. This taverna in the center of Athens is authentic and welcoming – with a dining room that is improvisational and “typically Greek,” says Point Supreme. “Diporto means ‘Double Door’. There is no menu; the owner serves you at will. The space defies design rules; the entrances are directly on the stairs, and their height is too short, so you have to bend down to enter. Then stairs lead you directly to the side of the counter.” IMAGE CREDITS Apartment Building Em Benaki Street via Atelier 66 Loumbardiaris Chapel, Dimitri Pikionis via Hélène Binet, Dimitris Pikionis / Agni Pikioni archive Diporto Taverna via Vicky Chyta, Aggelina Aroni, Paris Tavitian/LIFO, Sofia Levin/Seasoned Traveller, Greek Guide to Gastronomy

🔸The Summer Refuge🔸Episode 3: Peloponnese House by @pointsupreme stands for authenticity and the familiarity of vernacular. In The Summer Refuge series, curated by Archt. for @archisearch , we focus on summer houses that shelter time, memory and dreams closely connected to nature, to rural landscape, to vernacular architecture, and to notions such as ‘summer idleness’, ‘disconnection’, ‘slow living’, and Martin Heidegger’s ‘Dasein’ namely the art of being present in the world. The third episode, follows Point Supreme in the recent restoration and redesign of a two-story traditional stone-built house in the mountains of Peloponnese, designed for a family of four. Built a century ago by folk wisdom born out of necessity, the house reflects, in the present day, a different way of life—one inseparable from the cycles of nature, coexistence with animals, and manual labor. The rough, raw character of the structure is restored, and preserved in its entirety, with stone, wood, plaster, and mud continuing to define the project’s spatial experience. Distinctive elements of rural Greek architecture such as the “liakoto” (sunroom), the “ontas” and the built-in “krevata” (day bed) are introduced translating the traditional into the present. Using as tools the magnetic force of the archetype, the familiarity of the vernacular, and the rough grounding of the handmade, Point Supreme brought back to life a house—a refuge within nature—stripped of unnecessary luxury, a house vast “like glory or ignorance,” a house seemingly drawn from the verses of Cavafy and Ritsos. On this occasion, the architect and editor-in-chief of Archisearch.gr, @melina.arvaniti.pollatou , spoke with the studio’s co-founder, @konstantinos.pantazis , about architecture as an “art of adaptation” – a political act that is exercised upon the material world, like an archaeological excavation, functioning very consciously as an agent of civilization. 📸 @filipdujardin , @gmessaritakis #summer #refuge #architecture #restoration #renovation #redesign #traditional #vernacular #folk #peloponnese #pointsupreme #house #homedesign #greekarchitects #greek #architect #archt #archisearch
