A whirlwind of a weekend meeting some brilliant performers for the Community Auditions @landmarktheatresuk for #TheSignalman. Then a trip to @lynton_and_barnstaple_railway to get to grips with some authentic authentic signalling equipment and finally visit to @westsomersetrailway to see the incredible platform.
It's been full steam ahead, quite literally, but there's no one else I'd rather be on this crazy train with than @scottlecrass . 😊

This year, Pleasure Dome celebrates ten years at the Valley of Rocks with a return to our supernatural origins and a haunting production of Charles Dickens' The Signalman, adapted by Jonathan Holloway and directed by Scott Le Crass. We are proud to be creating this production in partnership with the brilliant Landmark Theatre who have continuously championed and supported our work. Exploring themes of mental health and rural isolation, this South West retelling, drawing on the impact of the Beeching cuts, pulls into the Valley of Rocks this July before steaming across the South West visiting a choice selection of Heritage Railways, Museums and Arts Venues. Keep your eyes peeled for returning familiar faces and some star castings, all delighted to be joining our creative family and fantastic community performers to bring this story to life.
We are looking for hard-working, enthusiastic, and fearless people of all levels of experience and of any casting to augment our professional company as a community chorus. Performing at The Valley of Rocks is the most visceral stage experience one can have, but it is also demanding, so we are looking for team players happy to get stuck and work as a troupe. We are a disability-led company, so are open to accommodating any access needs communicated.
Community Workshop-style AUDITIONS will be held at the Landmark Theatre on the 25th of April at 10:00-12:30.

Not all conversations were easy. But it's important to hear the uncomfortable truths and speak your own, even when your voice shakes. Especially for those who couldn't be there to have their voices heard. Looking forward to a year of putting the action into the words.

This year's tour of #CESARE and performances of #ROSALIE may be over but the @pleasuredometc bus keeps rolling around Exmoor and this time with a shoal of @thewellermen ! You might remember Associate Artist Seb Payne as the brilliant Composer and Musical Director of #LOUISA and #TreasureIsland.
Patrons of the Bottom Ship in Porlock were treated to a shanty-tastic impromptu concert and the boys brought the house down! How lucky are we in #Exmoor!

Our final performance of #CESARE was something a bit different... We were delighted to be invited by Lady Jane Robinson of Oare Manor to perform a reduced concert version in beautiful Oare church which raised over £700 for the North Devon Hospice. It was such a special evening for a very important cause close to the hearts of many of of us in @pleasuredometc and @somerset.opera
