It was a real joy to celebrate the launch of my nephew @padillatortilla and @mandyskye24 's new food venture @alitaphx this weekend.
For the event, Antonio and I collaborated on a projection piece we named "De La Raza A La Mesa", an 8:32 loop of migrant farm workers harvesting lettuce in the field directly across the street from my childhood home. It's presented in a deep recessed "window sill" behind the food serving table, attempting to shrink the disconnect between the viewer and the source of our food.

Big things are happening over on AZMNH.org! Over the last few months, we’ve worked with the museum to create some fun video content to be used as both website banner videos for their new site and social media content; as well as some staff introduction videos. All of which can be found throughout the entire website.

Honored to have collaborated on this new installation at the Arizona Museum of Natural History! Our videos help tell the story of how the southern tribes of Arizona (Akimel O'odham, Piipaash) adapted to the harsh climate through farming, irrigation, and horticulture—while also recognizing the challenges of displacement. Short and sweet shoot this week at the Mesa Arts Center as a crew of 2 with @pedroperezn . Easy rule of thumb, the nicer the location, the simpler the setup needed.

Experimenting with liquid x laser. Water's natural audio reactivity lends itself nicely to live effects. The laser beam itself is perfectly still here and all movement is in the water, caused by the audio's vibrations.

One year ago this month, I had the honor of collaborating with @lilianalupe to create a multimedia performance piece for @artlink_phoenix 's Art d'Core Gala. These are some excerpts from that piece.
Artist statement: This performance explores the enigmatic pull between two forces; the coming together of objects in space; the dance of attraction. As the performers move, so too does a magnetized force of iron shavings filmed and composited by David. Liliana choreographed a careful but fierce performance by dancers who live and sway in dynamic attraction with each other and the metallic dust. This coming together of film and live performance creates a singular, powerful force from its attraction: Fuerzas
