So far we've raised $37,753 to #freeblackmamas! Thank you to all who have donated! Thanks to you all and a generous grant from @nationalbailout , we've paid the ransom for 9 Black mamas so far for $103,916! Yesterday we brought home a mother of five who is 8 months pregnant. Your donations make this possible! We still have 35 pre-order copies of @peoplespaperco_op 's book Let's Get Free: The Transformative Art and Activism of the People's Paper Co-op. The beautiful book documents their amazing work in Philadelphia from 2014-2024 including their contributions to Black Mama's Bail Out since 2018. This morning we posted bail for our 9th mama, R., a mother of five who is eight months pregnant and having contractions. Much love and appreciation to the Defenders Association of Philadelphia (@phillydefenders ) who alerted us to R's situation and mobilized to help ensure that she will be able to get home safely when she is released today. We are still working hard to #freeblackmamas through July 3rd! Check out the Flyways & Freedom birding workshop @glenfoerd Saturday May 30th from 1-3pm! The workshop is free! 5001 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114 Glen Foerd is a park and mansion in Torresdale accessible by SEPTA and right off of the Delaware River. The house and grounds are beautiful and it is really a nice respite within city limits. In addition to bird watching, they also offer kayaking! Glen Foerd is once again hosting PCBF's Healing Retreat to close out this year's Black Mama's Bail Out. We appreciate Glen Foerd and encourage everyone to visit the park!

💐 Black Mama's Bail Out Peace & Blessings, On Friday, we welcomed home six Black mamas on State Road! 💝 #BMBO26 Alhumdulillah, our @phillybailout siblings posted bail for eight mothers and caregivers, and at least one was Muslimah 🤲🏽 That's nearly $94K in ransom 💰 Community members crafted papier-mache flowers from shredded bail receipts. From 2014 - 2024 the People's Paper Co-op (PPC) used a collaborative and multidisciplinary process to work directly with communities in Philadelphia that were impacted by the criminal legal system. These projects reshaped the reductive and discriminatory stories that criminal records tell into creative projects and installations that imagined a future world beyond our broken systems. Their massive public art campaigns and exhibitions reached tens of thousands of viewers and their art raised over $240,000 to free Black moms and caregivers. For Mother’s Day 2026, the PPC is launching their book and a corresponding exhibition focused on supporting, empowering, and expanding local abolitionist movements. The books will be available from the publisher in late June 2026 and will be mailed from our Philadelpia office.
