“Late last year I felt compelled to respond to a conversation that left me in tears. A designer had explained to me the extreme levels of racism he faced at work in a high fashion design studio the 80s...his prayer back then [ Psalm 23 ] signalling a need for protection.
In the aftermath of Oct Seventh, the rising child death toll, due to the continued colonial race based ideologies my desire to create a work that had a wider view in its desperation for protection grew with increased urgency.
As civilian casualties in the DRC and Sudan, equally mounting, thoughts about how to create a symbolic rallying cry for PEACE that speaks truth against tyrannical injustice. I choose to make a film that cries 'Freedom For All'
To my long term ride or die collaborator Manuel, to Roba your voice!! and inspiration for the title, and the whole cast and crew without your buy-in to shoot on an ice cold day in a freezer of a location - eternally grateful.
