It was the year we went to Antarctica, we truly went. It took me ten years to fully grasp what that meant. Thank you for the company, @r_klemm and @mathiasthiel . And thank you, @yadegar.asisi for taking me there. Congratulation on your new Panorama ANTARKTIS which will be opening its doors tonight. The trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, in every sense of the word. Btw we still miss the drone. She disappeared into the eternal ice. RIP Stanley.

Es war das Jahr, in dem wir in die Antarktis gereist sind, wir waren da ohne Scheiß. Hab zehn Jahre gebraucht, um zu begreifen, was das eigentlich bedeutet. Diese Reise wird für immer bleiben. Sie ist meine Top 2, ganz knapp hinter der Fahrt mit der Eisenbahn von Moskau nach Peking. Danke für die gemeinsame Zeit im Eis, Richard und Mathias. Und danke, Yadegar Asisi, dass du mich dorthin mitgenommen hast.

Heute läuft unsere Doku über westdeutsche Eliten in Ostdeutschland im ZDF. Leider erst um 1 Uhr nachts. Aber ich sehe es trotzdem als Belohnung, weil der Film nur deshalb nach der Veröffentlichung im Spartensender ZDFinfo noch einmal im linearen Fernsehen läuft, weil er in der ZDF-Mediathek auf große Resonanz gestoßen ist.
Mit großer Wonne teile ich dazu die Fotos von unserer Kinopremiere im Oktober. So viele Freunde, Familienmitglieder und Kollegen im Kino Krokodil in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Dazu auch fast alle Protagonisten des Films. Ein wunderbarer Nachmittag. Einer, der mich für lange Zeit mit positiver Energie erfüllt hat. Und ein Moment, in dem @ni_schmo , @d_donschen und ich unsere Leistung als Autorenteam gefeiert haben. Der Film hatte sich - wie so oft - viel länger hingezogen als gedacht. Stand immer wieder auf der Kippe. Am Ende haben wir rund ein Jahr dran gearbeitet. Und in dieser Zeit haben wir uns gegenseitig unterstützt, aber auch einfach kreativ gut zusammengearbeitet.
Als Freier Filmemacher kämpfe ich meine Kämpfe oft allein. Brodele im eigenen Sud. Versuche mich zwischen Sendern, Produktionsfirmen und Protagonisten zu behaupten. Ich würde mir wünschen, öfter im Team zu arbeiten. Deshalb freut es mich umso mehr, dass wir Drei auch in Zukunft immer wieder für Projekte zusammenarbeiten werden. Momenten begleiten wir Unions Ex-Manager Oliver Ruhnert für eine Doku. Ruhnert wechselt vom Milliardengeschäft Profi-Fussball in die Bundespolitik - zum Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht.

WTF - OSTDEUTSCHLAND IN WESSI-HAND
Bangladesh is often called a climate victim. It contributes only a tiny fraction of global carbon emissions. But it suffers disproportionately from their effects. Over the last decade, nearly 700,000 Bangladeshis were displaced on average each year by natural disasters, according to the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre.
Minara Begum, 45 years, is a climate migrant. In 2007 cyclone Sidr took away her home in a small village in Barguna of Barishal. She fled to Dhaka, Bangladeshs‘ capital of 20 million. Today she and her family live in the slum Korail Boubazar, where we had the pleasure to interview her.

The goats fighting fires in Portugal
Just a few days ago, we are speeding through winding roads in the north of Portugal. We are here to find goats. Goats that have superpowers. In this region goats are used to prevent wild fires. They only have to do what they do anyways: eating small plants and shrubs, which burn exceptionally well and spread fires quickly. Portugal is ravaged by forest fires like almost no other country in Europe.
It's getting darker by the minute, and darkness is always a pity when filming documentary style. When we finally see the animals, right before the light is completely gone, we jump out of the cars and run onto the road. I am feeling happy, excited. We chased the goats - and we did it. The animals are only meters away from us. Together with the goatherdess.
