Oh my! This is a dream come true.
First saw Nizlopi in 2007 - and over night, they changed from ‘this band who’s album I quite liked’ - to my fav band of all time.
In 2016, I had the massive pleasure of putting them on in York, with the mighty Brad Blackwell, which was one of my fav nights of my career. Then, They took a big indefinite break for a few years, but now… they’re back, and I’m sooo happy to be supporting them in my beautiful home town.
I’ve just been on tour for 3 months, so coming home to this is just perfect.
They’re one of the reasons I do what I do, and there’s not many tickets left. BOOK NOW!

A little photo dump of the last three days…
We’re bumping in / getting in / setting up for ORPHEUS and EURYDICE in the stunning @statelibrarysa , as part of @the.courtyard.of.curiosities programme for @adlfringe .
There is a lot of stuff going on, a huge and wonderful amount of people pulling something into reality. There’s a lot of road cases, a lot of string parts, a lot of radio packs, a lot of books.
We are working with a massive and brilliant team. Phil and I (alex) are spending a lot of time just wandering around and looking at it all happen - from our W&G team, from the venue’s team, from the library’s team. A lot has happened in three days. And there’s 5 more days til we open.
Tasty Tasty Tasty.
Also, we forgot it was Valentine’s Day yesterday. These shows are love stories. And tragedies. And also stories about what might be different next time.
My favourite line in HadesTown goes something like ‘It’s an old song, it’s a sad song, but we choose to sing it again in the hope it might turn out this time’ - and I think that’s one of the best articulations of myth I’ve ever heard. To choose to tell the story again. To hope it might turn out differently.

SELENE has one more week left at @fringeworldperth before heading off to @qtopia_sydney in Sydney, then to @the.courtyard.of.curiosities for @adlfringe with @joannehartstone .
We’re damn proud that SELENE is out in the world. Still tweaking, still shifting some stuff, and absolutely loving seeing this story and and audience meet each other for the first time. Making new stuff is special, powerful, full of curiosity and care. And we love having Megan Drury right in the centre of all that.
SELENE is also our first ever co-production with @theatre41york back home in York, UK. We’re so happy to have made the show with them. Before heading around Australia and New Zealand for 5 months, then eventually getting back for UK dates in June, July and August.
Keep an eye for everywhere we’re heading. Give us a shout if we’re gonna see you there.

Came back with a Lawrence Jack.
