A city hiding in plain sight
At first it’s just a book. But look again. Tilt the pages… and King William Street appears.
This hidden fore-edge painting reveals Adelaide’s Town Hall, the GPO, and a streetscape frozen in time, painted so delicately that it disappears when the book is closed.
Some stories only show themselves when you know how to look.

Light sabres... good... Light sabres and music? Classic! And we have the image to prove it.
This 2011 poster was for an Adelaide Symphony Orchestra concert, Space Classics. It has been carefully preserved in the State Library of South Australia ephemera collection.
We think the conductor may have been moonlighting as a Jedi warrior. Or perhaps ‘batoning’ down the hatches before the ASO transported the audience to a galaxy far, far away.
May the Fourth be with you... and with us all!
Happy 90th @the_aso
