Day 01 Highlights | CEPT Research Symposium 2026
Day 1 concluded with thoughtful exchanges across scales- from climate-responsive built environments to evolving construction systems.
Prof. Rafael Sacks opened the Symposium with reflections on AI, BIM, Lean Construction, and Digital Twin Construction, framing contemporary shifts in construction management and production systems.
In the morning, Prof. Satyajit Ghosh, Prof. Minu Agarwal, and Prof. Prashanthini Rajagopal presented insights on climate-induced vulnerabilities in heritage built forms, artificial light at night across regional to human scales, and the impact of metro infrastructure within urban canyon conditions on the urban heat stress.
In the afternoon, Prof. Koshy Varghese, Prof. Ganesh Devkar, and Prof. Purva Gupta led the discourses in lean-digital integration to address productivity challenges in Indian mega-projects, methodological developments in lean construction, and emerging directions in digitalisation and circularity within project delivery systems.
Together, the day reflected action-oriented research connecting environmental performance of buildings and cities with emerging technologies in construction and management.
Thanks to Prof. Abhishek Gautam and Prof. Devanshu Pandit for shaping the discussions.
A compelling opening- advancing dialogue toward more resilient and responsive built environments.
