The CEPT Research Symposium 2026, held from 29th to 31st January 2026 at CEPT University, brought together over 150 scholars, doctoral researchers, faculty members, students and practitioners to reflect on emerging research trajectories across the disciplines of architecture, planning, and technology. Organised by the Doctoral Office, the Symposium was structured as a 3-day academic exchange, foregrounding research as a critical mode of inquiry.
Day Three cantered on urban planning, participation, and resilience. The day opened with remarks by Rutul Joshi
@rutul01 and an introduction to the research at Faculty of Planning by Dean- Shalini Sinha, who also introduced the keynote speaker. The keynote address by S. Aparna, “Inter Sectoral Approach to Sustainable Urban Planning”.
The session on Urban Planning and Participation featured presentations by Amruta Patel, Himadri Das, Nimisha Samadhiya

@pratyushshankarstudio and Rutul Joshi, the session highlighted participatory planning as both a methodological and ethical imperative.
Post-lunch session addressed Public Realm and Walkability, with presentations by Ishaq Faheem
@ishaqfaheem Maulik Chauhan, Sanika Sahasrabudhe, and Shashi Kumar Mandal. The research presented, examined the negotiated urban spaces, mobility, walkability, and elderly-friendly environments. The session chair Nitika Bhakuni led the conversations with the experts Karthik Rao Cavale and Ratoola Kundu.
The last session of the day, Urban Water and Climate Resilience was centred around water systems, river landscapes, and thermal environments, with presenters Gargi Mishra, Priyanka Kanhare
@priyanka.kanhare , Rachita Lal, Siddh Doshi, and Tarun Sharma. The session chair Mona Iyer
@iyermona took lead on the discussions with the experts Malini Krishnankutty and Saswat Bandyopadhyay.
Overall, the CEPT Research Symposium 2026 reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering critical, interdisciplinary research and provided a vibrant platform for dialogue across disciplines, scales, and methodologies.
