Advanced Computational Design Workshop: CEPT x AADRL x ZHACODE
Conducted in collaboration with faculty from AA London and architects from Zaha Hadid Architects, this workshop builds on advances in Architectural Geometry (AG), Robotic and Digital Fabrication (RDF), and computational design over the past 25 years. Alongside the maturation of algorithms, codebases, and computational technologies, these developments have made AI-assisted, code-based ideation (“vibe coding”) increasingly feasible.
Vibe coding enables conversational, first-principles development of parametric design intelligence directly through computer code, without requiring extensive software installations or prior programming expertise. This marks an important shift in both design practice and learning, enabling intuitive, AI-driven workflows to shape architectural and urban design processes at unprecedented resolution.
The workshop explores AI-assisted, code-based ideation through creative dialogue with AI systems. Participants will guide algorithmic processes using prompts and lightweight scripts, effectively “vibing” with the machine to generate and refine design proposals. They will also learn to choreograph multiple AI agents capable of iterative problem-solving across tasks such as form generation.
