#throwback to our @ottawatranslibrary fundraiser Cruel Angel at @saw_centre earlier this year. This event raised a total of $400 for the Ottawa Trans Library and brought together live performances from local musicians @mattydisgrace and @hug.mosh , alongside DJ sets from local selectors @lilfr1dge , @feliciastarxo , and @emblem.wav , and @slntwlfmusic 🩷. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and made this event possible. Introducing our Cruel Angel live performers: @mattydisgrace channels her disillusion with into heartfelt songs about heartbreak, survival, and the capitalist system that holds us down. Equipped with a guitar, amp, and a never ending call to her, Matty opens the night for Cruel Angel 🚀 Producer, DJ, rapper, vocalist, and artist @hug.mosh combines live production, vocals, and DJ sets together to bring forth the cries of the u deerhound d queer dance scene. INTRODUCING OUR DJS FOR CRUEL ANGEL: @lilfr1dge is a DJ based in Ottawa/Montreal and knows exactly how to get any party started. 1/2 of @fortress.0nline and hailing from the queer rave scene in Montreal, his carefully curated songs consist of jersey and ghetto tech/hard techno mixes as well as remixes of popular pop/rap music songs you know and love. His sets will have you shaking ass 🍑 @feliciastarxo ESTRELLA (Spanish for star) is a queer Canadian-born DJ with Nicaraguan-Dominican roots. Known for weaving deep grooves and percussive textures into genre-blurring sets, including house, techno, electro, breaks and more. With a natural instinct for rhythm and flow, ESTRELLA takes listeners on celestial journeys that honour both underground pulse and cultural heritage ✨ Rising star of the Ottawa bass scene, @emblem.wav signature mix of UKG, dubstep, and bass music mixes his eclectic music taste with a refined understanding of dancefloor culture. The Engine Social Club launch party was a movie, and we can’t thank YOU, our club members enough for the tremendous support! It is with your support that we raised over $900 in one night! Ottawa-based DJ and promoter @sweet_morgane brings a distinct, high energy approach to every set she plays. Her sound moves fluidly between trance, techno and electro. She’s never confined to one lane, always guided by her instinct and inspiration in the moment. With performances across Montreal, Toronto and New York, Morgane has steadily built a reputation for her dynamic selections and crowd-igniting presence behind the decks. In 2023, she co-founded @fortress.0nline - a monthly rave series that has quickly become a staple in Ottawa’s underground scene. Based on the unceded territories of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people, 2kyerg flows through electronica among multiple genres, provoking thoughts, making statements, and creating raw emotion. INTRODUCING OUR LAUNCH PARTY COLLABORATORS: Alex Jakimczuk (@flexpanther ) is a musician, audio-visual technician, VJ, recording engineer, and event organizer with over 20 years of history in the Ottawa music scene. Serving as the lead technician for @babylonnightclub , Alex has worked with the likes @cafedekcuf , @debaser__ , @saw_centre , and more. He is the drummer for Ottawa based post-rock band @malinovka.666 and is the live VJ for @hug.mosh , providing visuals at events such as Pique and @sidebysidewknd . He operates the recording studio @uppercutstudios and records, mixes, and masters a number of local Ottawa projects. She has been raising funds for a family in Gaza since May and all profits she makes from this event will be donated.
