◾️DesignBlok in a New Light: Introducing our new visual identity by @permanent_office . After nearly three decades, we invited six studios—both emerging and established—to a closed competition judged by our team and a panel of independent experts. We are entering our 28th year with a comprehensive new graphic system that plays with the elements of blocks and stripes, featuring Czech typography from the @floriankarsten . This new visual identity is also reflected in the official change to our name—from now on, please note the new spelling: DesignBlok, with a capital D and B. We can’t wait for you to see the new design and visuals come to life across the streets of Prague. This year’s DesignBlok will take place from October 6 to 11, 2026. Po téměř třech dekádách jsme oslovili šest mladých i etablovaných studií a zorganizovali uzavřenou soutěž s naším týmem a nezávislými odborníky v porotě. Do osmadvacátého ročníku tak vstupujeme s novým komplexním grafickým systémem, který si hraje s prvky bloku a pruhů a používá česká písma z dílny @floriankarsten . Nová vizuální identita se promítá také do oficiální změny psaní našeho názvu – odteď si nás zapište jako DesignBlok s velkými písmeny D a B. The J&T Banka Art Index Pop-Up is a biennial event held at unconventional locations across Prague. This year, the curatorial team decided to step away from the established identity of the J&T Art Index and develop a bespoke visual language tailored to the current theme, Reveal the Art. The campaign’s goal was to attract a broader audience to the short-term event while introducing successful contemporary artists to the general public. The main visual motif — a yellow drapery veiling artworks — symbolized the act of revelation and was later physically unveiled during the Art Index Pop-Up exhibition. The visual style of the campaign was built upon the identity originally designed by Studio Side2, particularly the typography and color palette characteristic of J&T Art Index, which needed to be preserved. The first phase of the campaign featured a series of documentary-style vlogs hosted by Petr Vančura, who visited the studios of selected exhibiting artists including Krištof Kintera, David Krňanský, Jan Kaláb, Josef Bolf, Romana Drdová, and Valentýna Janů. In the following stages, a CGI FOOH video was created, presenting the event’s exclusive location covered with yellow drapery. This was followed by an extended OOH campaign featuring both static and motion outputs, visually expanding the theme by covered artworks by Adam Štěch, Petr Dub, and Vladimír Houdek. The campaign’s concept was ultimately reflected in the exhibition design at Palác Bellevue as well as in an audio guide created by Petr Vančura. Book design for new photographic book from @marietomanova about @katevitamin published by @untitled_publishing @lucie_cerna with foreword by @libusejarcovjakova 🎾 The book Kate, For You is focused on a single person, Kate. Marie Tomanova met Kate in June 2017, to take photographs in Kate’s apartment in Brooklyn, where she lived with her new kitten Cashew and her partner Odie. Until then, Tomanova only knew Kate from social media and that she was Czech living in New York City, something they both shared. She deeply identified with Kate on that afternoon and shot one 36-exposure roll of film in the bathroom, which resulted in the widely circulated image, Kate and Odie (2017). Visual identity for Fotograf Festival, annual festival what explores intersections in photography and contemporary art – just like its partner projects – Fotograf Gallery and Fotograf Magazine. Festival is held in Autumn months and it presents current topic through solo as well as group exhibitions prepared in cooperation with invited domestic or foreign curators in various Prague galleries and institutions.
