NT 24 - On Material - Interviews The theme of materiality was central to NT 24, exploring not only what buildings are made of, but also how materials connect architecture to broader ecological, cultural, economic and political contexts. [ Poster Club ] The Poster Club series showcases the creative process and inspiration behind posters selected for the International Poster Competition, while highlighting the talented designers behind the work. Let’s get to know Jiří @j.mocek whose posters continued to impress us year after year, with the most recent series of poster WIP (Work In Progress) Series 3 selected of 2024 International Poster Exhibition. Jiří Mocek (*1985) is a Prague-based graphic designer and art director. After studying at UDK in Berlin and graduating from the Studio of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at UMPRUM in Prague, he founded his own studio, Permanent Office. In his free time, he creates personal series of screen-printed posters and prints. His design work is characterized by bold typography and stylistic diversity. “The WIP (Work In Progress) silkscreen series is based on character and composition fragments printed on discarded paper sheets from screen-printing workshops — material he has always admired and occasionally had access to (in Czech, this type of printing waste is poetically referred to as makulatura).The first three series used seven motifs drawn from his ongoing projects and personal archive — some unused, others later modified. These motifs were freely arranged across 30 prints per series, each with a unique composition and layout, making every piece one of a kind. The process embraced spontaneity, and it was fascinating to see what could emerge without a strict plan or structure.” Showcase your posters in the 2025 International Poster Exhibition. 🖤 Deadline: 14th July 2025.

Book design for new photographic book from @marietomanova about @katevitamin published by @untitled_publishing @lucie_cerna with foreword by @libusejarcovjakova 🎾 The book Kate, For You is focused on a single person, Kate. Marie Tomanova met Kate in June 2017, to take photographs in Kate’s apartment in Brooklyn, where she lived with her new kitten Cashew and her partner Odie. Until then, Tomanova only knew Kate from social media and that she was Czech living in New York City, something they both shared. She deeply identified with Kate on that afternoon and shot one 36-exposure roll of film in the bathroom, which resulted in the widely circulated image, Kate and Odie (2017). Jiří Mocek (*1985) je pražský grafický designér a art director. Po studiu na UDK v Berlíně a absolvování Ateliéru grafického designu a vizuální komunikace na UMPRUM v Praze založil vlastní studio Permanent Office, Spolupracoval s mezinárodními klienty jako Boiler Room, Rhythm Section Records UK či Warp Records, a lokálně s umělci jako Nobodylisten, Katarzia, vydavatelstvím Bigg Boss a klubem Ankali. Visual identity for Fotograf Festival, annual festival what explores intersections in photography and contemporary art – just like its partner projects – Fotograf Gallery and Fotograf Magazine. Festival is held in Autumn months and it presents current topic through solo as well as group exhibitions prepared in cooperation with invited domestic or foreign curators in various Prague galleries and institutions.
