Soft as Silk - Sudden Shocks and Resurrections
Starting off strong, we have Soft as Silk (@pepi_d_yeah ) making their Twelve Points Records debut with “Sudden Shocks and Resurrections”, a percussive-driven track that is bathed in warm luscious pads and an introspective melodic line. It is the perfect track to introduce us to the rest of the compilation, with Soft as Silk’s use of eclectic drums counterbalanced with their skill of creating a unique sonic bed being a great foreword to what’s to come.
Twelve Points Compilation: Pathways II is a 12-track compilation featuring emerging and disruptive artists across Southeast Asia. Released on March 6, it marks the two-year anniversary of the Manila-based record label, a milestone in our commitment to nurturing and amplifying Asian talent on the global stage.

The Soft as Silk spirit is composed of many different elements: rhythmic freakouts, “huh?”-inducing timbres, violent staccatos, LFOs gone Blanka, breakbeats having breakdowns, ear-traversing echoes and so much more that even they haven’t discovered. The footwork triplet is as beloved to them as rave stab samples, as is the acid squelch and dubstep bass, alongside the deep house pads and disco strings. In an ideal set of theirs, all of this is present.
