i would have quit djing a long time ago but it was my friends’ belief in me that kept me in the game and grow my love of life a bit more each day.

She’s also part of @sucasa.manila who push the lost art of the daytime party! 🌅
@missbadkiss is a pillar of the city’s musical DNA, her selections rife with references to rnb, gospel, 90s house that cross into breaks, garage, techno - all serving as an expression of her distinct sense of self while also propelling her to shows across Southeast Asia. Dancefloors everywhere are hers, whether she’s moving them or moving in them. 👑

A happy fixture in Manila’s dance community, Kevin Shaw aka Nomoclassiq has been in the business of turning out dancefloors for more than 15 years running.
His sound is best described as a wink to a funner, more expressive self - through explorations of magnetic deep house basslines to gyrating disco love letters, with detours into hi-nrg techno and garage somewhere between. Nothing is too sacred or too profane.

(she/they) is a sound artist, DJ, producer, and film score
composer from the Philippines. Her ritualistic live performances are a futuristic ode to animism and precolonial spirituality. Through evocative combinations of voice and electronics, Alyana’s practice blends sonic experimentation with embodied resistance. Rooted in Manila’s underground culture, she contributes to the aural sensibilities and cultural attitudes of local nightlife, through organizing and performing at queer

At a time I was a lot more needlessly jaded, I used to think a “blessing” was this super rare and abstract once-in-a-lifetime miracle that belonged in movies. So, I went through the days content that stuff like that is almost never in the cards and life is just this blob of experiences im forced to go through.
Then a certain CRAZY lady came into my life. Now suddenly, a blessing had a face I could look at forever, a big heart I could take comfort in, and a laugh I could spend days listening to.
Happy Birthday Mariel! You taught me that a miracle can take the form of a person so beautiful, so warm that their presence turns life into a gift that I’m excited to unwrap every day.

Last August, we were incredibly lucky to be part of a little takeover in Bangkok that allowed us to play at the now defunct beam:cube. During said takeover, we got to watch some of our best from back home and Bangkok play at @bartemp.bkk - imagine our excitement to be able to close off the night tomorrow as a pre-game for Wonderfruit ✨ would be amazing to see new and old faces there 🕺💖

A bunch has happened since our first year! We’ve had the pleasure of having over DJs from Manila and elsewhere that stretch the definition of what the party sounds and feels like, each one making an indelible mark that we always draw inspiration from. Along the way, we’ve both been very fortunate to dj at some of the nicest, coziest rooms and meet new friends. 🫂
Every thing we do as Moving Parts today shapes what Moving Parts becomes tomorrow. So it feels very fitting that we do an all-nighter for year 2.0 as a sort of love letter to the spaces and moments we’ve been blessed to be a part of, as well as all the people that add color to this fun lil project. Labyu!! 💕
Come early! The plan is to really stretch our legs and work the dancefloor from start to fin. We’ve been itching to play a long, indulgent fun set and it will most definitely show.👨🏾🔬
