One of the goals I had set for myself this year was to create a YouTube channel and pass on my experiences and knowledge in photography.
When I first started photography I met gatekeepers . I can only guess that was out of their personal insecurities that they didn’t want competition for business.
I won’t ever be a gatekeeper. Moving into the education space is one I’m very excited for and I want everyone I meet to do well and love what they do. No one shoots the way you do, with your gear at the exact same time as you. You are unique in everything you do. Believe in yourself and follow your heart.
This video was inspired by people reaching out and asking me - How do I find it niche in photography? One love to the big homie @clifford_wakeman for following me around in the rain Friday night.
It’s now up on my YouTube channel.

It would mean a lot to me if you could go and check it out, like, subscribe, comment and pass on any feedback you think 🙏🏼🙂

Getting to workshops is a really important thing to do if you wish to grow, develop and get better at whatever it is you love to do. Thanks to the brilliant @jessemarlow for the @leica_camera_aus street photography workshop. I took a lot out of it 🙏🏼

ARABESQUE
The term “arabesque” has its etymological origins in the Arabic language, where it means “to dance” or “to express with grace.” This connection to grace and expression has permeated the concept of the arabesque in various dance traditions.
Mastery of the arabesque in dance is not achieved overnight; it’s a journey of discipline, dedication, and artistic exploration. Dancers train rigorously to develop the strength, flexibility, and technique necessary to execute this pose with grace and precision. It’s a testament to the dancer’s commitment to their craft.
Here, the brilliant and distinguished @zoemonohan is captured at the peak of extension, showcasing the strength, balance and flexibility required to perform such a beautiful moment in dance tradition.

Spice Alley is an amazing area to photograph when you’re in Sydney. Not even a 10 minute walk from Central Station, it’s filled with amazing nooks and crannies and wonderful food and photo opportunities.

I’ve loved the challenge that a fixed lens has given me. I wanted to become more confident on the street and the Leica Q3 has done that. If you want to frame something a certain way, you gotta move your feet. You can’t zoom. If you want to get close to someone or something, you have to get within centimeters of the subject.
It makes you stop and think about your composition so much more because you can’t zoom or crop too far. It has made my photography so much more deliberate.
