Next Gen grower Jason Collens Noll shares what makes growing grapes in Prince Edward County so special. Sitting on a limestone shelf near Lake Ontario, Prince Edward County’s cool climate delays bud burst in spring and extends the growing season into fall, giving grapes the time they need to develop real concentration and flavour. And limestone soils bring acidity and minerality to PEC wines. But Jason will tell you, it’s not just the terroir that makes it special. It’s the passionate people too 🍇 @harwoodestatevineyards @jasoncollensnoll @pecwine @visitthecounty

A great afternoon at our Local Industry Tasting Showcase! 🍷 Thank you to all our wineries + cideries who took the time to come out and share some truly fantastic local products. 🍇 Big thanks to all of the industry folks who made it out today from our our backyard and our neighbouring communities! It’s awesome to connect with so many of you, to show what incredible wines and ciders are being made right here in PEC. We love to see local businesses supporting local businesses 👏 And a huge thank you to @drakedevonshire for being wonderful hosts and @pec_ecdev for partnering with us to bring this event to life ❤️

Let’s head to Prince Edward County for a spring vineyard update with Jason, Next Gen grower and winemaker at @harwoodestatevineyards After a wet, cool spring, they’re de-hilling the vines, removing the protective soil mounds that kept them buried and safe all winter. Next up? Tying. Each cane gets positioned and secured to guide the vine’s growth for the entire season. Where the buds break, where clusters develop, how the canopy grows...it all starts with this foundation work. #PrinceEdwardCounty #Grapegrowersofontario #SpringVineyard #OntarioWine #NextGenGrowers
