Here is the process film for my recent installation with @artgallerywa .
I’ve painted all over the world, but being commissioned by @artgallerywa in the city I grew up in was surreal. A long way from drawing in my bedroom in Swan View in the 90s. I loved installing this work and taking the time to feel present with it.
The Drawn Together Project, is a 13-meter mural created to invite kids and grown-ups alike to engage in slow, mindful making and reconnect with creativity over the last summer holidays.
See the work now with contributions from all walks of life at AGWA before it’s gone.
The film was shot by Chad Peacock @peacockvisuals , who’s been documenting art projects with me for over 16 years. He has a rare eye and vision, and I’m grateful he could capture this one. Shot entirely on 16mm film—sent across Australia to Melbourne for processing, then back to Perth.

As part of the Linewide artwork trail we ran a series of creative workshops with local primary school children, inviting them to draw and talk about the area they live in and how it makes them feel. Selected drawings were then scaled up and painted along the line — small drawings transformed into huge outcomes that celebrate local identity, imagination, and energy.
It was inspiring to give young minds a voice.
It was important to capture the local energy of the project through time - the youth looking forward and an older generation reflecting on the growth and hope for the future of their community.

QV1 is proud to showcase the work of Chad Peacock as part of our SEE MY WORLD exhibition with @artifyconsulting
Site Unseen is a panoramic video installation created from a year-long observation of a remote WA salt lake.
“This project began before the global pandemic but was interrupted during the early lockdowns. When I was able to resume travel, these monthly pilgrimages took on a deeper significance. Returning to the same place each month when so much of the world felt uncertain and fractured became a quiet ritual.""
You can catch Site Unseen at QV1 from January - March. The slow, immersive visuals offer a form of visual rest, a counterpoint to the fast pace of the city.
