Ahead of today’s walk, @cbsla highlighted the story of PCC student Ducien Allen, who shared his journey through homelessness, displacement following the Eaton Fire, and the support he received from PCC and United Way during some of the most difficult moments of his life.
We are incredibly proud of Ducien, who will also be speaking at today’s event and sharing his story with the community.
Together, we walk to help students stay enrolled, graduate, and build a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Last Friday, PCC welcomed @cagovernor Gavin Newsom to campus during Apprenticeship Week!
The Governor toured our Welding, FabLab, Industrial Fabrication, Building Inspection, and new Construction Trades Lab, programs preparing students for high-demand careers in the skilled trades and supporting recovery efforts following the Eaton Fire. 🔧🏗️
Supported partly by the @larisestogether initiative, our new Construction Trades Lab is an outdoors, hands-on training facility that connects students directly to workforce pathways.
We are proud to continue investing in programs that empower students, strengthen our workforce, and help rebuild our community!
