It’s been a long, looooong time 🗓️
@jessica.schilder ’s 21.09m bomb today at the Shanghai Diamond League broke one of the more notable droughts in throwing, as she became the first woman since @valerieadams84 on July 17, 2012, to throw 21m in the shot put. Schilder is now one of four women to throw 21m this century.
Schilder was 13 years old the last time we saw a 21m throw 😅

After 5,051 days, a woman is back over 21m in the shot put. World champion @jessica.schilder launches a huge PB of 21.09m in Round 5 at the Shanghai Diamond League to break the elusive barrier for the first time since @valerieadams84 threw 21.11m on July 17, 2012, in Luzern.
The Diamond League season is off to a roaring start, as @chaseypoosp and @mitt_sarah rounded out the Top 3 with SBs of 20.46m and 20.42m, respectively.

There’s a new SEC women’s javelin champion for the first time in a few years, and it’s fittingly the reigning NCAA champion: @mizzouthrows ’ @valentina_throwsbb .
