It will be exhibited at the award winners’ exhibition from March 3–8. If you’re nearby, we would love for you to visit. This work has gradually transformed over the past three years as we’ve continued reflecting on our complex feelings toward AI, its evolving role and function, and our changing relationship with it. We are grateful that it has finally taken a form that can be exhibited. For this exhibition, we created a database based on the leaked list of artist names reportedly used for AI training by Midjourney. We hope this work becomes an opportunity to discover and learn about these artists. In collaboration with artists Siori Kitajima (北島志織) and Joseph Minadeo of PatternBased, we are excited to announce the newly updated OnomatoPedal Version 2.  OnomatoPedal is an audiovisual playground inspired by onomatopoetic words and the effects pedals of EarthQuaker Devices. It is an experimental collaboration platform between musical artists and multimedia visual artists who create interactive animations. Users can play a set of sounds and animations with the keys on your computer keyboard or drum pad on your mobile device. What an honor! Recorded a decade ago, super stoked to see this album finally released into the world. Ten years ago I was living out of my car and on friend's couches around the states for a good minute. I remember using a friend's upright piano while house-sitting their spot while they honeymooned. So much has changed since then.. for most everyone. Thank you to Jason at Infraction Records (@infractionrecords ) for seeing this through and Warren (@dorosoto ) for providing the beautiful and endless inspiration.. and Corey and Michael for the sonic layers. Earlier this year, we gave away most of our possessions and moved the PatternBased HQ from the southern California Mojave Desert to Nagasaki, Japan. We have been settling into our new life in a quiet little valley east of the city near the ocean. We will always cherish the memories of our desert life and we will miss its unique flora and fauna, the creosote smell after the rains, The Milky Way from our porch and our desert friends. We have been incredibly lucky for all the opportunities and collaborations life has offered us and we hope to find new ways of paying our luck forward. #nagasaki #himi #長崎県
