The Umbilical Cord A story of a mother and a daughter. This short film is a part of my Master’s project for @ual.lcf_ma.footwear at @lcflondon_ . Sound on for a more immersive experience. As my first exploration into conceptual footwear design practice, this project considers footwear as a carrier of the intertwined and complex emotions inherent in mother-daughter relationship, grounded in my autobiographical narrative. The film visualises this relationship dynamic by creating a nostalgic and intimate storytelling space, documenting the interaction between the performers and the footwear artefacts through acts of wearing and choreographed movement.
