Maryland friends - I'll be playing up and down the East Coast with @jimlauderdalemusic and his awesome band the next few weeks, and will be at @hubcityvinyl in Hagerstown Wednesday 4/16, 7pm. Come out and say hey!
Two years ago I spent about a week in Pawhuska, Oklahoma filming a scene as a musician in Martin Scorsese’s latest movie Killers of the Flower Moon. Although the band only ended up on screen for a few seconds, it feels pretty cool to have played a small part in such a big film 😌
Last week I enjoyed the surreal and at times exhausting experience of being cast in a movie as a drummer - imagine that - in a ca. 1926 jazz band, filming in northern Oklahoma. It was a pleasure to spend time with these super-talented musicians with such deep knowledge of 1920’s dance band music, many of which I met for the first time, and a few that I haven’t seen in upward of 20 years! Unfortunately I am bound not to disclose any more details until the film is released, so you’ll have to settle with just a few pics of these dapper young gents, as well as the band we were modeled after, the California Ramblers…
