This trip was just a little cursed (forgotten passports, plugged ears and sinuses, lost cats, cancelled excursions, missing acts, food poisoning, you name it) but I can’t complain much when I got a good tan and good tunes stuck in my head 🎶 🛥️ 🏝️

This past week we celebrated big sis’s big 50th! Got our nails done, got our wine, hung with the old guard at Vinyl Tap. So glad to celebrate these milestones with my gworls 😍
Beyond depressed that my favorite neighborhood coffee shop @hannabeescoffee is closing up today. They are moving to a new location, time and place TBD. It was so incredibly special to have a symbiotic coffee and bookshop space (@thebookshopnashville is next door) and this loss will be monumental to the community. This shop has been my home away from home for the past few years, seeing me through book edits, crazy-making journalism jobs, and a home reno. Losing beloved third spaces like these weakens our democracy and makes it harder to know our neighbors, as the out-of-state landlords do their damnedest to turn a profit. Fuck landlords, marry neighborhood hangs, kill capitalism. Best wishes to Ken and the fam on their next chapter. 🥰💔☕️📚
January 2026, in which I continue revising my book, @librarianliss makes a triumphant return, @shelneu , @christopherhill87 , and I are reunited in LA in quantum entanglement, the worst ice storm spared us relatively considering, and I trek to the library for an incredibly memorable post-storm story time. Looks about right for a time of war.
