I’M WRITING MORE BOOKS!! So incredibly thrilled to be working with my amazing editor @sarahrmccabe and the whole @simonteen team on another upper YA series (a duology for real this time, I promise lol) — and huge thanks as always to my agent @litagentmarini ! This book has been nearly two decades in the making. I wrote the first version when I started high school (it was the second or third book I’d written at that point, my first in English) and though I ended up shelving the story and abandoned writing for a long time, the idea never left me. In 2019, I decided to give the story another go. It made me fall back in love with writing and pushed me to seriously pursue publishing. But it still wasn’t there yet, so I shelved it again and started working on Curious Tides instead, which went on to become my debut novel. It was shortly after Curious Tides came out that everything suddenly clicked into place in my mind for this one—and STARS INCARNATE was (re)born. These characters evolved alongside me. The magic is something I’ve thought about for years. Things currently on my desk: 🌲💫 the printed out first draft of STARS INCARNATE (my next post-apocalyptic fantasy book coming out in 2027) which I’m going to start reading through and taking notes for while I wait for my edit letter. I reread some key scenes the other day and was ABSOLUTELY GIDDY WITH EXCITEMENT 🤭 I love these characters and can’t wait to make them shine even more!! 🥀 the pitch and synopsis for this new book idea I’m dabbling in! If you remember me posting about this a couple weeks ago 👀 I ended up sending a short pitch to my agent and her response was basically “why is this book not in my inbox yet.” So I guess that’s my cue to start writing it! This one’s an adult gothic horror romance (?? not sure yet) and I hope to get a quick zero draft done asap to get a better sense of the story. #amwri̇ti̇ng #authorsofinstagram

Just turned in the first draft of my fourth book please clap!!!! For anyone interested in stats, this first draft came up to 88,800 words. I always tend to underwrite in the early stages before adding and adding until I somehow end up with 500+ page books lol. I don’t expect this one to be any different! I’m already so excited to dive back in and flesh this story out some more (after taking a break!!! and refilling the well!!!) STARS INCARNATE is the first in a duology (FOR REAL THIS TIME I PROMISE) set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world destroyed by a strange deluge of falling stars, following a girl with a d3adly secret training to hunt down the eldritch horrors that stalk the land, and the formidable hunter who would end her if he knew the truth—about her, their mysterious connection, and the fate of their fallen world 🌲💫
