And the fun doesn’t stop there, his past forays into production as 1/3 of Partok Matushka Apfelberg on Kompakt have set the bar even higher, fleshing out a vision for sound that flips the script at every turn. For Bassiani Podcast 279, this Berlin selector brings a singular magic, anthemic grooves and butter-smooth transitions, this is highly combustible house from a one-of-a-kind talent, an exclusive mix recorded at the K41 garden in Kyiv for Bassiani.

Everything you’ve heard about ∄ aka @k41community.fund is true. Every inch of this mammoth venue is enchanting and intentional, and the dancefloor of Back Yard where I played was easily one of the best I’ve experienced as a dancer or a DJ. When those concrete terraces are blasted with an IMMENSE amount of smoke and the whole floor becomes dancing moving shadows in different heights, what can I say, it is an absolute dream. But beyond the party or the club, getting to know the crew and the community, hearing how their lives have been throughout the war and just experiencing this beautiful city was truly heartfelt and humbling. Seeing firsthand how the club functions as a backbone for both community and resilience, putting their full weight and energy into directly funding and supporting the resistance, with special focus on the queer community, and being a vital safe space for queers and in these dire times, really for everyone.
