Six scenes. Five minutes. Thousands of bulbs that breathe.
We made a short film about Unknown Atmospheres, the room @parallelstudio_ and @sethnehil composed for our galleries.
Why the loop is five minutes. The relationship between sound and light. Why people stop talking when they walk in.
Expand your mind here first, then come see for yourself in San Antonio or Portland.

🇺🇸 It’s been a while since I posted a #tbt.
This installation is a beautiful dive into the digital universe of teamLab. Thousands of colorful light spheres float and scatter like an infinite swarm, creating a tunnel that seems to open up in every direction. We kind of become part of the artwork itself. You feel tiny at the center of a cosmos that breathes light and color. It’s one of those pieces of art that make you stop, take a deep breath, and forget the outside world for a moment. Absolutely hypnotic.

Perception vs. Reality: Is there actually a difference? Step into Unknown Atmospheres and decide for yourself. Stay curious—sometimes you have to get lost in the light to find what matters.

Charlotte absolutely brought the artistry to @letshopscotch . I was so lucky to collaborate with this wildly surreal space to create dance images that feel larger than life. The lights, the reflections, the color everywhere you turn. It is truly jaw dropping and worth a visit on its own.
Huge thanks to Charlotte and her mom Lisa for being all in on this vision, and to the incredible instructors at @dancecenterofsanantonio for pouring into dancers like her. When preparation meets opportunity, magic like this happens.

Pretty wild that they used our Hopscotch Gallery installation Unknown Atmospheres in this movie Twinless. They removed my sound design of course, but Jesse Mejia’s (uncredited) LED light programming adds a lot of visual impact to this scene, the closing credits and the trailer. I feel bad that the character had a freak out in our space. I actually think it’s a fun and trippy environment.

“When we found Hopscotch we knew it would not only work but also provide a wonderful dynamic space where everything our characters were experiencing could be expressed in a visual way. It was a perfect scenario where the script was the starting place to look for a location and then the location fed back into the story to expand the scope of the film and enrich it. This is kind of the dream sweet spot for finding a great location. It adds depth and life to the story.”
