All farewells should be sudden.
In this challenging year, the exhibitions we curated were all successfully completed in terms of visitors & sales, however we decided to move out of the shop where Parallel Space had built our own identity - an independent art space that connected various backgrounds of artists and creatives, mainly based in Hong Kong, who all believe in physical presentation and exhibition to show off creativity and artistic expression.
After 7 years of running Parallel Space, we found that it’s time to take a pause.
On 25 Oct, we held a retrospective exhibition of Parallel Space for a day. All the 88 exhibitions that happened from 2018-2025 are listed with a QR code linked to our Instagram account, numbered them all for the audience to have a final vote for the favorite exhibition. And we also had a farewell party at night to say goodbye to Tai Nan Street.
Thank you all again for visiting, sharing, and purchasing at Parallel Space over the years.
Wish you all a peaceful new year, see you in 2026.
Have Faith and Hope!

The current exhibition “No Archives” is a continuation of the manga “Nobody in Walled City”, expanding its world through paintings, character studies, and imagined scenes that did not appear in the comic book. The exhibition takes place across two floors at Parallel Space in Sham Shui Po, presenting previously unseen works including character portraits drawing, acrylic paintings, capturing moments of stillness of the imagination of the ice age HK, The exhibition also features the original drafts, color drafts, sketches, discarded drafts and concept art, inviting viewers to enter the visual universe built by Rex Koo. @rexkoo
The story of “Nobody in Walled City” is set in Hong Kong during the Ice Age. The city has degenerated into ruins, the population has plummeted, and everything is covered in snow. To survive the extreme cold, humans grown into a species covered with furry hair, simplified thinking and consciousness abilities, they spent the day doing nothing. In contrast, cats, longtime companions of humans, have evolved in the opposite direction, becoming larger and more intelligent species. As roles blur between humans and cats, basic survival tasks such as clothing, food, shelter, and transportation become shared challenges in a world without clear boundaries.

“No Archives”by @rexkoo
Ice Age Hong Kong: Exhibition of the Manga “Nobody in Walled City”
The “No Archives” exhibition is not only a documentation of the production process of the manga “Nobody in Walled City”,but also an extended creation reflecting the Ice Age of Hong Kong depicted in the manga.
In addition to showcasing the manga drawings, coloured drawings , sketches, discarded drafts, and concept art of “Nobody in Walled City”, the exhibition primarily features paintings that extend from the manga: these works document the various people living in Ice Age Hong Kong who do not appear in the story, along with their living conditions. This includes portraits of the main character and other figures, landscape paintings depicting idle lifestyles, and wax models of a frozen urban city scene.
