承蒙一眾評審及讀者的厚愛,
《毛人》榮獲2026年意大利博洛尼亞拉卡茲書獎(BolognaRagazzi Award)
Thanks to the generous support from the panel of judges and readers, “Nobody in Walled City” has been honoured with a Special Mention in the Young Adult Comics category at the 2026 BolognaRagazzi Award. This year, 4,120 works from 73 countries and regions were submitted, and ten outstanding books were selected across various categories.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Hong Kong comics support programme for their encouragement and guidance, as well as to the friends who have consistently inspired me to pursue my passion for drawing manga. While working on “Nobody in Walled City,” I have two more stories brewing in my mind, and I hope to have the ability to bring them to life and publish them in the future.

About nine years ago, in the summer, I planned a trip around Europe and went back to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
In a quiet corner of the gallery, I came across a rather odd display: A painting of a flying fox by Van Gogh was hanging, and behind it—almost strangely—was a self-portrait of his, displayed in an awkward, unconventional way. Even stranger, the portrait was displayed on its side, so that visitors had to tilt their heads sideways in order to see it clearly.
At that moment, a playful thought came to me: if the painting were rotated 180 degrees, would Van Gogh’s hair then appear to hang downwards?
That whimsical idea stayed with me. After I came back to Hong Kong, I began creating a short comic titled “Batman Van Gogh.” The comic later had the chance to be printed in a small run by the HKAC in an introductory format, freely distributed at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in France. Looking back now, I realise that it was a work that was still very immature in both its conception and the idea behind it.
