I miss my Yaris. It’s been a mad journey since we started Paper Clap. This was our first tune Dud Calls. When we wrote it there was no Paper Clap. I was living in Australia, sharing raps and beats with John and I wrote this one about missing a girl I was seeing at the time who’d gone home to Ireland. I was gonna release it under my own name and call meself M-Dog Slog but then I thought it sounded too gangster for such a soft tune. Plus we had loads of other music together so it made sense to combine it and so we formed Paper Clap. That was over 3 years ago. Time flies hai. Mad. Then the world went pear shaped and we released a fukn album from the bedroom haha Anyway thanks to everyone that’s been with us all the way. It’s easy to think “why the fuck am I bothering making these tunes and releasing stuff and asking people to fkn pre-save shit like is there any point?” Or you send a million emails and don’t get one response 🥸🔫 But sometimes a tune resonates with someone and I’ve had a couple of people say that a lyric has helped them out in a tough time, and that makes it seem a lot more worth it. Sound for sticking with us ✌️ Sorry for getting soppy n’all but it’s this savage Super 8 footage from the third nipple of Paper Clap @conorwaters that brought it all on.
