This month marks Palberta's 10 year anniversary!!!!!! 🥳😍🥳 and despite our not being active as a band the past year or so, and our not knowing yet when/if we will be again, we still think this calls for a celebratory post 🥰 written by Nina, but Ani & Lily agree with the sentiment:
It’s overwhelming thinking about the positive impact Palberta has had on my life. I'll never forget the feeling I had when we first started getting in the swing of writing songs together, how elated and relieved I felt to be involved in something I felt I so truly belonged to. Writing music with Ani and Lily was the most effortless fluid process, the union of our weird brains felt cosmic. It was the first time music and collaboration really clicked for me as something that could both feel so fun and carefree, and expand my mind in a meaningful, revelatory way. It was my first outlet for my freak-ass to let loose, and experiment with the idea of what it meant to hold an instrument on a stage, sometimes with fear, but the three of us inspired and encouraged each other to push our individual boundaries of expression. We all felt complicated about being on the stage so we did things like coordinate matching outfits, wear trash bags with nothing underneath, made up choreography, did skits in between or in the middle of songs, used props… Then we started rocking in a more straightforward way, the Palberta essence still tangible & equally as earnest. We toured an epic amount and made so many beautiful connections with people all over the country who we’re still friends with today. I'm just so grateful and thankful for it all. Thank you so much to everyone who helped and encouraged and supported us along the way ❤️

Hi lovely ppl !!! Today marks one year of our album Palberta5000 being out in the world! It’s the album we’re most proud of, our most intentional and polished work yet 😍 thank you so much to everyone who bought this record, played it on your radio station/podcast, wrote about it in an article/blog, shared it with friends and family. We feel so lucky and thankful for all the amazing opportunities that came from this album and overall hype it’s gotten. On another note, we thought we would take the moment to let you all know we’ve decided to take a break from playing shows and touring to tend to, pursue and pay closer attention to some things in our personal lives. It’s been a hard past couple years as everyone is aware, and we feel it’s necessary in this current moment — our first break in 9 years as a band. The power of Palberta does not leave us don’t you worry, we will be back and we will rock extremely hard when that time comes. But in the meantime, we still have some exciting non-show related things coming up! So keep your eyes n ears peeled👂👀👂

Pleased to announce our next show November 13th at @market.hotel NYC — it’s our dear friends No One and The Somebodies @noatsny 20 year anniversary show! Remember when we did a split LP with them called chips for dinner in 2015? and @osrtapes did a beautiful job recording our side? Good times. This show is also the release of NOAT’s new album Ceasefire Violations! Also a benefit show for @maketheroadny ! With @oldtablemusic@fridakillkills and The Drinkers Themselves.
