This May, Blackfish Gallery will celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders Heritage (AANHPI) month by presenting the special exhibition Many Bridges. The exhibition will feature the work of Mashiko ceramic artists from Japan, local Portland AANHPI artists, AANHPI Blackfish member artists, as well as interpretations of the theme by Blackfish members. Featured Mashiko Ceramics and Arts Association (MCAA) artists will include Emiko Asada, Douglas Black, Andrew Gemrich, Ikuzo Fujiwara, Akihiko Ishijima, Masayuki Miyajima, Yoshiji Onuki, Kei Shimaoka, Ryo Suzuki, and Satoshi Yokoo. Many Bridges will also feature artists Robert Dozono, Yuji Hiratsuka, Mai Ide, Limei Lai, Palmarin Merges, Kanani Miyamoto, Satoko Motouji, and Roberta Wong. Additionally, works by longtime Blackfish Gallery members Kanetaka Ikeda and Ruri will be highlighted.
