Really happy to have an essay in the latest @stingingfly featuring the beached Garfield phones from Hell, France. Huge thanks to editors @roisinkiberd and @lisatheheretic . Link inside biography 📞
A year ago today Secret Third Thing was officially released and to mark the occasion here is the book’s official trailer. I wish I could thank my publicist but I had to fire my publicist (credit card fraud). Also had to fire my agent (lied about submitting Secret Third Thing to the ABIAs and stole the $200 entry fee to donate to an independent school’s P&C fundraiser to embalm the body of an Old Boy for a cabinet display in the foyer of the school’s mindfulness dome). Wish I could thank my tour manager but I had to fire my tour manager (hygiene fraud). The marketing team? Also fired (email fraud). Really thought I would be thanking my metadata wrangler, too, but I had to fire my metadata wrangler (lanyard fraud). However, thank you, dear end users, for reading the words inside Secret Third Thing. For those who have not read Secret Third Thing might I entice you with a list of the book’s unique selling points:

Surprised to bits to learn my new poem 'Workarounds' has won the 2024 Peter Porter Poetry Prize. What an honour to join such a rich lineage of poets. Thanks heaps to the judges and ABR and congratulations to all the shortlistees. I have donated a portion of the prize money to @apan4palestine for their ongoing advocacy for the liberation of Palestine, and to @blakcaucus , a grassroots First Nations collective who are organising this Friday's Invasion Day rally on Gadigal Country, which you're all going to show up to. Swipe for receipts. From the river to the sea, always was, always will be 🇵🇸[-o-]
3 years ago to the day, @corditepublishing released my debut poetry collection, Secret Third Thing. Thanks everyone who has bought a copy and thanks everyone who has read and engaged with it. The shoe is fully satched but the foot couldn't be more dry if it tried. Link in bio and all that and remember, everything will be okay for your landlord.
Greetings Meta shopping app users, earlier this year my poem 'Whatever happens happens' was lucky enough to be shortlisted for the 2026 Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize. Congratulations to winner @felicity_plunkett and runners up @svetlanasterlin and Genevieve Osborne and to all the shortlistees whose amazing work you can read in print in the current issue of @islandmagtas 🌱 Thanks heaps to the judges and Island magazine!
Dear shopping app users, I have an essay entitled 'Sir, the thorax' in the latest @overlandlitmag . It is about lawns (class, capitalism, colonialism, etc). A version of it was also shortlisted for the Calibre Essay Prize back in 2023. I hear it is sold out over at Overland HQ but you can still find a copy at discerning book stores 🌱
Our hearts are with the victims of the antisemitic massacre at Bondi, a sickening act of violence and terrorist attack that targeted the Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah. Lives have been stolen, families shattered, and communities devastated. Antisemitism, like all forms of racism, hate, and bigotry, is an abhorrent scourge that must be eradicated from our society. Subbed In extends compassion, love and solidarity to the Jewish community now and always.
New pain , new tragedy and new suffering.
As it has been written for us to live in pain the rest of our life.
We’re dying and need your help.
Who can rescue and donate us.
Who can save our souls from this madness? 🙏
Got a new anti-landlord poem in the latest precarity-themed edition of @corditepublishing . Thanks a million to Andy Jackson for the commission. Spend some time on the computer away from slopland and enjoy some poems. If you want to leave this shopping app to read it, the link is inside the biography and all that.
