(META)FISICA 🌞 @cc_tapis presents (META)FISICA, an exhibition curated by @danthawley , for which I had the great pleasure of contributing as exhibition designer. Unfolding like a labyrinth through the gallery’s six rooms, the exhibition introduces a landmark collection of new rugs developed in collaboration with @fornasetti . Archival motifs by Piero and Barnaba Fornasetti are reinterpreted into surreal, dreamlike compositions, brought to life through cc-tapis’ global artisanal craftsmanship. A sound installation by @carlosmcasas  with custom speakers by @GiorgiodiSalvo  invokes the presence of animal guides — the cat, snake, fox, and crow — culminating in a final immersive soundscape in the gallery basement. (META)FISICA 🌞 Grateful to @cc_tapis @fornasetti and @danthawley for the trust, and proud to be part of such an incredible team. Not only have they believed in my vision -granting me a remarkable degree of creative freedom- but they have also enabled me to translate and interpret these two extraordinary worlds in an exhibition that I hope will leave no one indifferent.  Taken from @danthawley ‘s curation of the exhibition, together we conceived #cctapis space as a clinical gallery, where office blinds and yellow linoleum reactivate the natural light of the Piazza Santo Stefano, allowing to create a glowy cocoon where rugs are hung in floating layers and placed in conversation with each other through games of height, proportion and mirroring.  It also stands as a testament to how destiny weaves its threads in unexpected ways: the first exhibition I visited at the Triennale di Milano upon arriving in this city was ‘100 anni di follia pratica’, celebrating the centenary of Piero Fornasetti’s birth. Twelve years later, and thanks to the vision of @cc_tapis , @fornasetti and @danthawley , I have the honour of presenting this space that I have designed as a result of this happy convergence. Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall. It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long I think it is part of my heart. But it flickers. Faces and darkness separate us over and over.

MDW26 It always takes me a while to process the most stimulating week of the year for design. For twelve years now, I’ve had the chance to live and enjoy this beautiful moment in the city I call home, Milano. This year, from a different perspective, surrounded by many friends who are now the new generation of design. Proud of this generation.
