Still out running for Rivs, even though the @runwithrivs challenge is over, the work is not done.
@tommy_rivs is still fighting and his family still need support. His brother @jacobpuzey is continuing his fundraising with a Rage On auction through the end of the day today. Link in bio.
My run today was my first of 6 virtual races for the Flagstaff Summer series. The @machine_solution 10k at Ft Tuthill. I claimed the top of the leaderboard with a 37:05 10k, with 3 days left for somebody else to come take the crown. @natraneil
Little Charlie Girl played too hard yesterday and got a small puncture on her right eye lid. We spent until about 1am at the vet to make sure everything else with her eye was alright, and it is.
Just have to spend a couple days in a cone to let the cut heal a bit. @c_arciniaga@runindamc@lifeofrachel
Day 9 finally day of the challenge. @runwithrivs I made an attempt for 24 miles to get 50 for the weekend.
I DNF’d.
Made it to 20 miles before bonking and jogging it to 21.5, called @c_arciniaga to pick me up.
Big ups to @runindamc for finishing the 24 for us.
Now the rest of the week I’ll spend in bed on my back like Charlie Girl here.
Overall I put in 132 miles toward the challenge to raise money for @tommy_rivs . Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, kept Rivs in your thoughts and prayers, and challenged yourself as well.
Day 8 of the @runwithrivs challenge. Started off my weekend hard again with a plan of doing a marathon. Ended up with 26.5 miles.
Started with a 15.5 mile loop with @runindamc out FUTS East to Lil America and Harold Ranch.
Then back to the house to refuel and start the next 11 miles solo around the Flagstaff Arboretum and and Flagstaff Ranch.
Included a picture of the @teamrunflagstaff pro group training with @tommy_rivs a few years ago out on Woody Mtn Road. Back when @runnersworldmag thought it would be a fun idea to write a story about us. Good times.
Day 5 of @runwithrivs met with the @runflagstaff crew for our 9 mile loop.
Personally legs are feeling a little better today. Pumped that @tommy_rivs continues to be doing better.
Also pumped to get @vince.sherry on his down stride as he let us pass.
Every run right now feels like I just ran a marathon. Day 4 of @runwithrivs and I did 2 runs of 4 miles each.
Started out hard this week, hoping to hit a second wind soon. #runwithrivs #rageon
Day 3 of my @runwithrivs challenge. Slept too late this morning, and probably needed it. Then a full day at work and back up to flagstaff, I only had the energy for 8ish miles.
Did the @aravaiparunning Big Pine course that @tommy_rivs had raced a few times. (He has is fairly graphic image on the 4th pic here).
Tomorrow I’ll try to get an earlier start and more miles in.
