I’ve made 2 jackets in my life, one over the weekend, and another for my first cosplay many many moons ago!
I was ambitious making my first sewing project a jacket. I remember looking at the pattern I bought and crying because I didn’t understand any of the words or how to follow anything I could read. But I did my best and my Misato jacket was the outcome! I’m so proud of this and my still persisting ability to just go with it and try even if I’m not confident in a skill. 💭
Fast forward to this weekend, where I smashed out a self-patterned, 31 panel jacket for Alisaie which is an absolute beast of craftsmanship and has every tiny detail on her model. I tried so hard on this and I’m so happy with what I’ve done! (WIP video on this soon) 👀
The comparison shows how much you can improve if you just try! If you’re willing to do something and not be perfect. My work still isn’t “perfect” nor will it be. But it’s better. And that’s the goal! 🩷
Cosplay vs Character ✨
With Meteion done I thought I’d show a little side by side of the full cosplay! During the crafting process I had in-game screenshots and concept art printed around my crafting space so I could try to make her as accurate as I could. I think I did a pretty good job! 💙🐦

It’s time for a new cosplay build! And I’ll be having a lot of creative fun with this one!!
Starting with Sophie’s shirt which I measured and hand painted all the polka dots using leather paint (thank you @zoe.elizabeth.cosplay for the paint recommendation) to try out another way of customising fabric!!
