The second release this year celebrating the 10th anniversary of the outlines label is the album “Dreamachinedrum” from Japanese producer Skip Club Orchestra.
Tatsuya Sasaki is a sound artist based in Hiroshima. Alongside CRZKNY, he is one of the most important representatives of the local footwork scene. His style, initially influenced by classic Chicago sounds, has evolved over the years into his own individual interpretation of the genre. Together with DJ Fulltono and the aforementioned CRZKNY, they laid the foundation for a new footwork hybrid, in which Chicago’s sample-laden music achieved a radically reduced form. It was these three producers who became the direct inspiration for the founding of the outlines label, and Skip Club Orchestra’s groove number 3 represented the stylistic essence of the label’s beginnings. Tatsuya Sasaki returned to outlines in 2023 on groove 13, where he presented his vision of ambient, but it is only now that his full-length album is being released.
Dreamachinedrum is a collection of ten tracks showcasing the producer’s signature sound. It features clearly defined footwork rhythms set against ambient soundscapes. However, Skip Club Orchestra reaches for vintage, dreamy, pastel colors reminiscent of Robert Fripp’s classic recordings. Tatsuya Sasaki also draws inspiration from the traditions of the Raster-Noton and Mille Plateaux labels, and his productions are filled with crackles and clicks. Skip Club Orchestra belongs to a group of footwork pioneers experimenting with tempo transitions between 120bmp and 160bpm. The album Dreamachinedrum also features such tracks.
Tatsuya Sasaki, without paying attention to current trends in music, consistently creates his own individual world, which is essential to the identity of the outlines label today, and the album “Dreamachinedrum” is the perfect manifestation of this.
As part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the outlines label, its owner, Pawel “Paide” Dunajko, has prepared a special mix featuring tracks released under the outlines label over the past 10 years.

In the near future and in the coming months, artists whose albums have been released on outlines/guides will be performing in: Kynoseries event in Warsaw curated by @zly__pies (@_djstrawberry , @kbarpowisle , May 15), Berlin (@ifs_2048 meets @poemproducer , June 24, @avantart_official ), and outlines owner Paide in Norberg, Sweden (@norbergfestival , July 9–11). Another IFS meets @spalarnia performance is planned, but details will be announced soon.
Artist highlight: Polish footwork spotlight - Paide (DJ), Sknit (DJ) & Gary Gwadera (Live)
The Polish footwork scene, led by labels like Polish Juke & more recently outlines, has been an important part of a transformation of the Chicago-born genre into a thriving platform for avant-garde experimentation and "borderless" dance music. By blending high-speed rhythms with diverse influences like Japanese minimalism, ambient textures, and live percussion, Polish producers are pushing the sonic boundaries of the genre. This unique approach established Poland as a critical hub for the sound's global evolution.
This year we’ve invited three staples of the Polish footwork scene to put a spotlight on the diverse sounds and tendencies in it. Outlines label head Paide creates hybrid forms of minimal techno, dub, glitch, and footwork; versatile experimentalist raver Sknit (of We Rob Rave) brings his flavor of juke and footwork soundscapes exploration; and drummer Gary Gwadera presents his “Far, far in Chicago. Footberk Suite” juxtaposing Polish oberek folk music with footwork rhythms.

This year’s @norbergfestival in Sweden will feature a spotlight on the Polish footwork scene. The organizers have invited three artists: Sknit, a representative of @polishjuke ; drummer @gary_gwadera ; and the owner of #outlineslabel, Pawel “Paide” Dunajko.
It promises to be an exciting time.

Finally, I had the pleasure of listening to music in a space perfectly suited for this purpose. The legendary @tonariumlab sound system in Katowice is a wet dream for every admirer of high-quality sound. While the French have IRCAM, the Poles now have Tonarium.
The occasion was perfect, because as part of the @fomo__music event, Carrier performed his excellent audiovisual live show Rhythm Immortal. Carrier is one of those artists I have been following for a long time and whose every new release gives me an incredible experience. The opportunity to listen to this live performance in such acoustic settings was like a dream come true. It was wonderful.
In addition to Carrier, Michał Wolski and Katatonic Silentio also played very interesting live sets.
The paper edition of the fifth issue of the EX! Zine, published by the @adventurous.music , featured a short review of the album @ifs_2048 meets @poemproducer . „East-West Logistics” was part of a series of three releases that the producers duo IFS recorded with guest vocalists.
