It’s that time of year again! We don’t know about you, but we just wanna stay in bed, eat food and pamper ourselves all day! In light of this, we are inviting you to join us for our stay-at-home 1 COURSE DISCOURSE online on the 20th Nov! It’s free, we provide the takeaways, it is BSL interpreted and we are offering ‘Thank you' gifts to attendees! Limited spaces. Registration link in the bio! More details below: 1. “What is it?” The ‘1 Course Discourse’ is us inviting you, our community, to come, break bread and have a heart to heart with us. Our Living Archives is for Black Disabled Women & Gender Expansive People. And we want it to be guided by community - so we need your input and expertise! 2. Let us explain… We want to understand how to approach building out the archives and our activities, in a loving way that feels aligned. We can’t do that without you. In fact, we refuse to do it without you! The evening will give you a chance to help shape the organisation’s events, archival offerings, future structures and communal healing practices. This charity is always meant to be for US and by US. 3. Our Goals? -To co-create a thematic Living Archive of, for and with Disabled Black Women and Gender Expansive People (BWGEP) - starting with the ‘Black Disabled Grief project’! -To facilitate free wellbeing, educational & leisure events, workshops -To conduct insider-led, vital research on Disabled BWGEP populations -To empower Disabled BWGEP to enter higher education and research 4. OLA NEEDS YOU! IT’S ABOUT CULTURE. IT’S ABOUT HISTORY. IT’S ABOUT INTRA-COMMUNAL HEALING. IT’S ABOUT BUILDING LOVING FUTURES. We’re trying to build towards lasting impact! It feels like Summer was ages ago! Yet.. We still can't get the OLA Summer Social out of our heads! What an amazing day.. It felt like the most fun family reunion ever (without the toxicity 🤣)!! We hope you all felt the love and care that was intended for you ❤️💐 To you valiant warriors who braved it through the thunder and random torrential rain storms (😭 omg) - we salute you🫡! Your defiance in the face of London Weather was EVERYTHING 😁🙌🏾! Seriously, the day, the laughter, the fun, the feels would not have existed without you. Thank you for being part of our community! Thank you for coming with open hearts and minds. Thank you for reaching out and touching one another. Thank you for your lovely warmth and energy. Thank you for indulging in the space and just being. Thank you for giving us a festival of the eyes with your glorious beauty. Thank you and thank you!
