What if architecture is not just about buildings, but also about building culinary art, hotel business, innovative technologies, and a sustainable future? March was a month of reimagining the boundaries of my profession, and it’s been inspiring to collaborate with such talented professionals across diverse fields. 1. Culinary Art: It was an absolute joy to collaborate with @chefedwardlee and @themgoodparty team for such a remarkable art-week evening at M+. A massive thank you to my FabLAABros @iamlinuskung @kinxxnik @__chowman for their dedication to achieving the 3.6m-long Harbor Plate (a.k.a. mission impossible), special thanks to @agape_design for the resin glazing, and thank you to all my friends who came to support. 2. Hospitality Business: Thanks to the CUHK Business School @cuhk__shtm for inviting me to lecture and share my perspectives on the next-gen hotel and customer journeys. 3. Sustainable Futures: Co-curating the “What If: Materials Reimagined” exhibition with the @fabricax_hk @themillsfabrica team was a highlight, made possible only by the incredible effort of @commaa.hk @cmc.mono @lcyeez @rafelk @iamlinuskung @__chowman @tenshishi 4. Future-proofing Technologies: At Alibaba @jumpstarterhk , we had the perfect occasion to reuse our recyclable Harbor Bricks for the fifth time. It’s also a gentle reminder of how @laabpro jumpstarted—to make changes, one by one, step by step.

THEM GOOD (@themgoodparty ) is a new art and lifestyle project premiering on March 25 at Hong Kong’s cultural landmark @mplusmuseum AGATE at @westk.hk . Supported by Hypebeast, it offers a multi-sensory experience across Culinary, Art, Mixology, Architecture, and Music. The event features Chef Edward Lee (@chefedwardlee ) from Culinary Class Wars, who will team up with esteemed architect Otto Ng (@ottocad ) to push the boundaries of dining and architecture by turning the tasting experience into physical art. Meanwhile, contemporary artist Eddie Kang (@eddiekangstudio ) will transform the venue into a dynamic space for visual immersion. Guests will enjoy exclusive cocktails crafted by top mixologist Halim Kim from Baccarat Seoul (@halim_2dong ), while DJ E Toro (@dj_el_toro_shanghai ) will set the stage with electronic beats, inviting everyone into the cultural crossover. We are thrilled (and still in shock!) to announce that @commaa.hk has been awarded the Best Café by the foodie forks 2025 @afoodieworld ! We are deeply humbled and honoured to be awarded alongside Michelin-starred restaurants, the world’s best bars and hotels, and many culinary giants we admired. commaa is a small, neighborhood cafe, and this is a huge encouragement for our team. We wouldn’t have been able to come this far without our amazing barista team who strive for excellence, as well as our core management team for overseeing everything big and small. Behind the door of commaa is a group of LAABers @laabpro who have supported commaa through thick and thin. We thank everyone for believing in this passion project. PULSE is a unique community of architects, designers, and visionaries from Central Europe—Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Austria—and beyond. The warmth and strong sense of community were remarkable, and I really treasure the genuine conversations with the people there. Central Europe’s creative scene was less familiar to me, but the conference was a revelation, showcasing incredible projects that embodied European heritage alongside revolutionary strategies, thoughtfully curated under the theme “RESTART”. My presentation “Hong Kong as an Urban Lab” and the panel discussion on “Cities” hopefully offered a fresh perspective from a distinct Asian context.

SOFT POWER: MARIO TSAI FIRST SHOWCASE IN HONG KONG At the forefront of China’s dynamic design scene, Mario Tsai is reshaping the landscape of contemporary Chinese design from his base in Hangzhou. In collaboration with @commaa.hk , he will debut his works in Hong Kong this December, sharing the journey of his brand and his insights into the design industry in China and beyond. Born in Hubei, Tsai’s journey traces a path from a humble countryside upbringing to becoming one of the country’s most prominent creative voices. In 2014, he founded his design studio, exploring materials, technology, and craftsmanship. His distinctive design language—characterized by innovative thinking, rigorous logic, and poetic rationality—quickly gained widespread recognition. In 2019, he launched his eponymous brand, expanding his footprint across Asia and Europe. Last year, his studio initiated a research project titled Soft Power, which involved concept exploration, material testing, and production method experimentation, resulting in two new series: Sparks and Soft Collection. The fusion of softness and power in these works creates a captivating tension, balancing dramatic presence with subtle elegance.
