After three separate #cancer diagnoses, #Connecticut-based activist Lynda Bluestein set her sights on #medical aid in dying. This compassionate end-of-life option was not available in her home state, so she filed a lawsuit against the state of Vermont to gain access to their #Death With Dignity law, Act 39 – and she won. A rich portrait of a fearless #activist, matriarch, and fallible human, this feature documentary follows Lynda and her family over the course of a year as they navigate life and prepare for her inevitable death. But will her life end the way she intends it to? "Oher Side” premiered to sold-out crowds at the 2025 SXSW in Austin, Texas. Screening: Wednesday, February 18th, 2026 7:30 PM Film at Lincoln Center | Francesca Beale Theater Tickets here: /other-side?utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGnwLfgJUrpNLXjj23f8W7VC0mxgMqCorOsAtIRPYKYMvLnlCmtcZ9_XngPOBE_aem_JpvmSrFopd5baG3SJy4gsw 💙

LINCOLN CENTER, NYC SCREENING— . Hey everyone! We’ve FINALLY gotten our New York City screening set up, thanks to our friends @e2acorg . . You can come see Other Side on Wednesday, February 18th at 7:30pm (Doors at 7). @othersidedoc and I will both be there to participate in a 20 min talkback following the screening. . We premiered last March @SXSW and we are SO EXCITED to bring this film home. Our minds are blown that we get to screen this @lincolncenter — what an incredible last stop for this film tour! . For those of you who don’t know, @othersidedoc follows Lynda Bluestein’s journey through the end of her life as she navigates the aid-in-dying process. We spent nearly a year with Lynda and her family, and were trusted to document her life-changing and law-changing final year. . Gratitude feels like such a whimpy word to use to describe how we feel— there’s honestly a lot of feelings around this topic and this work, but we are grateful. To Lynda, her family, all the people who have supported this film, and to the now thousands of folks who have seen this work and shared their feelings and stories with us. . Ticket Link is in the bio and we hope to see you there! . Bring tissues! . Content Warning for Sensitive Viewers: This film depicts Lynda’s last months living with a terminal illness, and with her approval and at her request, it documents her dying process in its entirety. It is intended to be an educational film, specifically through being an honest portrayal of her story, with all of the beauty and difficulties that existed therein. . We love you!

Some of my oldest memories of with mom are being dragged to some organization she was working with and sat down at a table to lick envelopes or put stamps on them… at 47 I’m still doing it for mom! #activism #shade #freedomofchoice

When we started Death Differently nearly five years ago there were a few organizations that we viewed as the gold-standard for normalizing conversations around death, dying and grief. We are humbled to bring OTHER SIDE to this year’s @endwellproject conference. . Very much a full-circle moment for us, we’re very excited to meet some of the people that have inspired us to continue along this wild journey (that absolutely nobody asked us to take 🤣) November 20th in Los Angeles. #medicalaidindying #death #grief #griefjourney #endoflife

Rarely do we get the chance to be in the same room with the team of family, medical professionals and hospice workers who helped a loved one at the end of their life. Dr. Diana Barnard sharing a bit of gratitude for a rare opportunity at the Middlebury, Vermont screening of OTHER SIDE. #medicalaidindying #endoflife #documentary #endoflifecare #deathdoula #death
