I’m so excited to be able to finally share that I’ve been selected to take part in the @whisfilmfest Screenwriters Lab! I’ll be working on my feature “Don’t Test Me”, a dark comedic feature about a trans-masculine and nonbinary softball team that battles a national testosterone shortage by any means necessary.
Thank you to @frankpaige@andyfeltrin_ and @robyyyyn for their creative and emotional support to get this far!
I’m really looking forward to meeting and working with the rest of the cohort! EXCITING TIMES!!!
Thanks for programmings us, @kelownafilmfestival ! We’re so excited to be included in the Canadian Shortworks program on Sunday, June 21st! (I spy a couple other @crazy8sfilms in the fest too!) Ticket link in bio! 💋
It was an absolute thrill to be a co-producer on @thinginsideher
I got a text some time around Lunar New Year asking me if I didn’t want to help out on a Crazy8 film again this year and I think I thought you know what? I like these folks … I like this project … I have time …. ah, why not!? I’m so grateful to the entire team for a truly wonderful filmmaking experience.
So much of indie producing is really, really glamourous. Think: driving into the previously unknown depths of Burnaby for a camera part so small and so important that we can’t use our gear without it, but it didn’t make it on the truck. Or filling a cart at Costco with so much food for craft services that multiple women inform you that you’ve outdone yourself. Children stare in awe. Or sending out deal memo reminders on a seemingly eternal loop. Or deeply considering the question, do we have enough baby oil? Will three full garbage bags fit in my back seat? Does this sponsor’s logo need its background removed? Is that gonna look like what I think it’s gonna look like?
And on and on and on. To produce on a film is to sign up to love a project so hard, you’ll even wipe its butt. Thankfully, this film was a silky smooth experience (this metaphor ends now).
Sending all my love and congratulations to Jacki and Della and Lizzi and Patrick and the whole team! Now, Let’s Festival!
